THE TIME IS NOW
There's great wisdom in praying for our leaders, it's not always for their sake, but for our sakes.
Pray for H.E @CalebMutfwang Gov of @DOPA_PLSG, stop the petty blackmails.
May Government of Plateau State succeed, may BOKKOS Lga heal & regain peace🙏
GOVERNOR MUTFWANG TASKS NEW APPOINTEES ON DELIVERING MANDATE, STRENGTHENING GOVERNANCE
Plateau State Governor, His Excellency, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, Esq., has charged newly appointed Special Adviser and Honorary Special Advisers to justify the confidence reposed in them by contributing meaningfully to governance, strengthening public confidence and delivering tangible results for the people of the state.
The Governor gave the charge on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, during the swearing-in ceremony of the appointees at Victoria Gowon Hall, New Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos, where he emphasised that public office was a responsibility that demanded integrity, discipline, accountability and an unwavering commitment to the collective interest of Plateau State.
“From the outset, our administration has been guided by a clear conviction: the mandate freely entrusted to us by the people of Plateau State is not a privilege to be enjoyed, but a solemn responsibility to be discharged with integrity, humility, sincerity and measurable results,” Governor Mutfwang declared.
He explained that the appointments were intended to strengthen the state’s governance structure, broaden consultation, enhance policy formulation and implementation, and bring additional expertise into government.
He reminded the appointees that "your appointments were not merely recognitions of personal achievement; they are calls to greater responsibility, sacrifice, loyalty and accountability to the people of Plateau State.”
Governor Mutfwang charged them to provide sound policy advice, identify practical solutions to emerging challenges and ensure that government decisions translated into measurable improvements in citizens’ lives. “Your recommendations must be timely, evidence-based and guided by the overriding interest of Plateau State,” he said, urging them to demonstrate professionalism and the capacity to turn ideas into actionable proposals.
On teamwork and accountability, the Governor cautioned against personal interests and unnecessary rivalries, insisting that loyalty must be reflected in responsible service and commitment to the administration’s mandate. “Our administration needs people who can offer honest advice, identify workable solutions and remain focused on the collective interest of the state,” he stressed.
Highlighting his administration’s priorities, Governor Mutfwang reaffirmed that peace and security remained paramount, citing the reinvigoration of Operation Rainbow, strengthened community-based security efforts and the training of approximately 1,500 personnel.
He also pointed to investments in healthcare, education, agriculture, energy, water supply, sanitation, transportation and road infrastructure, noting that these interventions were intended to improve living standards, particularly in rural and underserved communities.
Acknowledging that more work remained to be done, the Governor urged the appointees to remain accessible and responsive to the concerns of citizens, especially women, young people, farmers, entrepreneurs and vulnerable populations. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to rebuilding affected communities, strengthening peace and creating an environment where every citizen could live and prosper with dignity.
Equally, Governor Mutfwang expressed deep sorrow over the fresh attack in Gyero village, Jos South Local Government Area, describing the incident as deeply troubling, particularly at a time when the government has made significant investments and intensified efforts to strengthen security and protect lives and property across the state. He urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate closely with security agencies by providing timely, credible, and actionable intelligence, including early warning signals, to facilitate swift intervention and prevent further attacks.
Today, I joined His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR; the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda; the Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari; my fellow Governors; members of the National Assembly; and other distinguished party leaders and faithful at the official flag-off of the 2027 presidential campaign in Kaduna State.
The flag-off marks the commencement of our collective journey towards securing the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for a second term in office. It is also an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to consolidating the gains of the administration’s economic reforms, strengthening national cohesion, deepening democratic governance, and building a united, peaceful, and prosperous Nigeria.
For us in Plateau State, our support for President Tinubu’s re-election is anchored in the tangible interventions and demonstrated commitment of his administration to the development of our state and the welfare of our people.
The ongoing construction of the Akwanga–Jos–Gombe Road, alongside the approval for the construction of the Mararaban Jama’a–Mangu–Shendam–Ibi Road linking Plateau State to Taraba State, represents a significant federal investment in our infrastructure, connectivity, and economic growth.
These projects will enhance mobility, facilitate trade, open up communities, create economic opportunities, and strengthen Plateau State’s contribution to the national economy. They also demonstrate the importance of purposeful leadership that recognises the developmental needs of every part of our country.
We equally acknowledge with profound gratitude the compassion and humanitarian commitment of the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, whose philanthropic interventions have brought relief, hope, and support to vulnerable individuals and households across Plateau State. Her motherly disposition and commitment to the welfare of the less privileged remain deeply appreciated by our people.
As we begin this campaign journey, we are determined to sustain the progress already made, strengthen our national unity, advance economic recovery, and ensure that the benefits of governance reach every Nigerian, irrespective of ethnicity, religion, or political affiliation.
I am confident that, through collective responsibility, purposeful leadership, and sustained commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, we can build a Nigeria where peace, security, opportunity, and prosperity are within the reach of all.
Together, let us consolidate the gains, strengthen our unity, and build a stronger, more prosperous Nigeria under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

…Plateau Community pledges massive support for Mutfwang’s re-election in 2027
An atmosphere of excitement, solidarity and renewed political commitment enveloped Kaduna State as the Plateau Community warmly received the Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, Esq., and his Deputy, Her Excellency, Ngo Josephine Piyo, alongside top government officials, during an appreciation visit to the community.
The visit formed part of the activities surrounding the flag-off of the APC Presidential Campaign Council in Kaduna State and provided an opportunity for the Governor to reconnect with Plateau indigenes residing in Kaduna, acknowledge their invaluable support and reaffirm his administration’s commitment to the continued transformation of Plateau State.
The gathering attracted members of various ethnic nationalities, including women, youths, elders and traditional rulers, who expressed profound appreciation for Governor Mutfwang’s leadership and the remarkable strides recorded by his administration across the 17 local government areas of Plateau State. The community also expressed confidence in the administration’s development agenda and pledged continued support for his re-election in 2027.
Addressing the enthusiastic gathering, Governor Mutfwang expressed deep gratitude for the sacrifices and solidarity demonstrated by Plateau indigenes during the 2023 governorship election, particularly those who travelled from Kaduna to Plateau State to exercise their franchise in support of his candidacy.
He described their commitment as a profound demonstration of faith in his leadership and a compelling reminder of the responsibility his administration bears to deliver on its promises to the people.
“I am here to express my profound appreciation for the support you gave me during the 2023 election that brought me into office. Your sacrifices, your conviction and your unwavering belief in our vision for Plateau State will never be taken for granted.
“Since 2023, we have continued to work together, and I assure you that we will sustain this partnership as we move towards 2027. Our commitment to the people remains firm, and we will continue to build on the foundation we have laid to deliver greater development, strengthen our institutions and improve the quality of life of our people.
“I urge you to remain united, focused and steadfast in your prayers and commitment to a peaceful, united and prosperous Plateau State. Let us join hands to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for another term in 2027 so that the Renewed Hope Agenda can continue to deliver tangible benefits to our people and our nation,” the Governor stated.
Governor Mutfwang also called on Plateau indigenes residing in Kaduna to appreciate the hospitality and support extended to them by their host state, while encouraging them to participate actively in the democratic process and support candidates committed to peace, development and good governance.
Highlighting the achievements of his administration, the Governor reaffirmed his determination to accelerate infrastructural development, improve public services and expand economic opportunities across Plateau State.
He disclosed that road construction and rehabilitation projects were ongoing across the state’s 17 local government areas, with several projects already completed and commissioned. He assured the people that his administration would sustain the momentum, ensuring that infrastructure development reaches more communities and strengthens connectivity, commerce and economic activities.
I had the honor of commissioning the Jos Metropolitan Development Board (JMDB) Ultra-Modern Market in Bukuru alongside my Deputy, Her Excellency Ngo Josephine Piyo.
This market is not just a set of shops and stalls it is a promise fulfilled. For years, our market women and traders have endured harsh and unsafe conditions to make a living. I have always believed that they deserve better: a clean, safe, and organized space that restores dignity to their trade, boosts commerce, and strengthens our economy.
With 165 shops, warehouses, lock-up shops, stalls, and open spaces that can accommodate over 2,000 traders, this facility is designed to serve as a true lifeline. In fact, I have directed that displaced women be given priority in shop allocations, because no one should be left wandering in search of a place to do honest business.
But Bukuru is only the beginning. We are also working towards reconstructing Kugiya Market, Jos Main Market, Maraban Jama’a Market, and several others. This is part of our Greater Jos Master Plan to build modern, functional cities with world-class markets that drive growth and attract investment.
I want to use this moment to call on all Plateau sons and daughters, at home and abroad: this is our collective responsibility. Let us unite, not divide. Let us contribute ideas, resources, and partnerships to improve the lives of our people. The more united we are, the more prosperous Plateau will be. My doors remain open, and my hands of fellowship are extended to all.
This market belongs to you, the traders, the community, and future generations. Please protect it, maintain it, and use it as a tool to build better lives. My administration remains committed to creating an environment where small businesses thrive, because when Plateau thrives, we all thrive.
Together, we will continue to make Plateau a safe, organized, and globally attractive home for commerce and investment.
As the Executive Governor of Plateau State, I am honoured to lead our delegation to the prestigious Open Government Partnership (OGP) Global Summit 2025, currently taking place in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain.
This summit brings together global leaders, reformers, and innovators committed to advancing transparency, accountability, and citizen participation, principles that define good governance and inclusive development.
For us in Plateau State, open governance is not a slogan; it’s a core principle that guides our policies and reforms across: Digital governance, Fiscal openness, Public service delivery, Justice, security and anti-corruption, Education and healthcare, Gender equality and youth participation.
We believe true progress is achieved by engaging citizens, promoting accountability, and leveraging technology and innovation to deliver efficient, equitable, and transparent services.
Our participation in #OGPSummit2025 offers an opportunity to learn from global experiences, build strategic partnerships, and adopt cutting-edge solutions that will strengthen our governance frameworks and accelerate development.
The insights gained here will enhance our ongoing reforms, improving service delivery, creating economic opportunities, safeguarding human rights, and building resilient institutions for the people of Plateau State.
Together, let’s continue to champion openness, collaboration, and innovation, shaping a more accountable, inclusive, and sustainable future , not just for the Plateau State, but as part of a global movement for democratic governance and citizens' empowerment.
As Chairman of the Protocol Sub-Committee for the forthcoming People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Elective Convention, I am pleased to affirm that our great party is fully prepared for the convention scheduled to hold in Ibadan this November.
Our preparations reflect the renewed commitment of patriotic members of the PDP to ensure that the party remains strong, united, and unshaken at this crucial moment in our nation’s political journey.
Earlier today, I had the honour of inaugurating members of the Protocol Sub-Committee at the Legacy House, Maitama, Abuja. I reminded the members that their work is central to the success of the convention and urged them to bring their wealth of experience, discipline, and professionalism to bear in delivering a seamless and hitch-free exercise.
This meeting once again demonstrates that the PDP is very much alive and vibrant across the country. We are taking the forthcoming convention seriously and approaching our assignment with every sense of responsibility.
I have always maintained that the founding fathers of the PDP would not wish to see the party fade away in our time. We therefore have a sacred responsibility to preserve this great platform, one that has served as a bridge of hope, inclusion, and progress for millions of Nigerians.
I deeply appreciate my brother, the Chairman of the Main Planning Committee and Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, for his leadership and words of encouragement. His assurance of the Main Committee’s support further strengthens our resolve to deliver on this assignment.
The PDP remains the most credible, people-oriented political platform in Nigeria and indeed across Sub-Saharan Africa. Together, we will continue to uphold its values and reposition it as the trusted vehicle for Nigeria’s democratic renewal.
It was an honor to welcome my elder brother, a distinguished statesman, dedicated public servant, and consummate administrator, H.E. Sen. George Akume, CON, to Jos for the Forum of SGF and SGS meeting.
As the engine room of governance, their deliberations are pivotal in shaping policies and strategies for Nigeria’s growth and the well-being of our beloved citizens.
The meeting under the theme, "Understanding the dynamics in the roles and functions of Secretaries to the Government of the states" is critical to promoting peace and national cohesion.
Today, I flagged off the construction of a 400-unit housing estate in Zanwra, Bassa LGA part of our 2,000-unit scheme to ease accommodation challenges for civil servants.
From the onset, my administration made a covenant to restore dignity to workers, the true pillars of governance. We cleared arrears, settled decades-old pensions, restored timely salaries, raised pensions by 100%, and approved the ₦70,000 minimum wage.
This housing project is not charity, it is justice. Housing is a right, and with it comes comfort, security, and dignity. We are not just building houses, but homes, communities, and lasting legacies.
The estate will feature eco-friendly infrastructure, schools, clinics, water, power, and create over 3,000 jobs. By God’s grace, we will replicate this across Plateau State, ensuring civil servants everywhere benefit from shared prosperity.
This is the Plateau we are building: one of dignity, stability, and hope for all.
Today, I join family, friends, and the good people of Plateau State and beyond in celebrating a truly remarkable woman, my beloved wife and our gracious First Lady on her special day.
Your life is a shining testament to grace, strength, and compassion. You have stood as my unwavering pillar, and as an inspiration to countless women, youths, and children across our dear Plateau.
Through your selfless service, nurturing spirit, and tireless advocacy for the vulnerable, you embody the true heart of a mother to our state. Today, I thank God for the gift of your life and pray for greater wisdom, good health, and boundless joy in the years ahead.
Happy Birthday, my dear wife and the First Lady of Plateau State.
Today, as we join the global community to mark International Youth Day under the theme “Local Youth Action for the SDGs and Beyond”, my heart swells with pride for the vibrant, gifted, and resilient young men and women of Plateau State.
This year’s theme speaks directly to our reality that the journey toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals begins right here at home, through bold ideas, creative energy, and the unwavering commitment of our young people to make a difference in their communities.
Since I assumed office, I have been intentional about placing you, our youths, at the centre of our development agenda. We have opened doors for strategic appointments, created opportunities for skills development, and expanded spaces for innovation and enterprise. From transforming the Nigeria Standard building into a world-class ICT Hub, to reviving BARC Farms as a modern agribusiness model, our vision is simple: to provide platforms where you can lead, create, and compete confidently on the global stage.
These efforts are not just projects, they are investments in your dreams, your potential, and the future prosperity of our dear Plateau. I firmly believe that the progress and destiny of our State rest in the capable hands of its young people.
As we celebrate this day, I encourage you to remain steadfast, innovative, and committed to the values of hard work, unity, and peace. Let us continue to work hand in hand so that youth-led action in Plateau State drives real progress toward the SDGs and beyond building a future that is prosperous, inclusive, and sustainable for all.
Happy International Youth Day!
It was an honour to receive the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, here in Jos today for the funeral service of the late Mama Lydia Yilwatda, mother of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda.
The President’s presence on the Plateau, despite his tight schedule, speaks volumes about his respect for the people of this State and his commitment to the values of love, unity, and faith that Mama Lydia exemplified.
I deeply appreciate President Tinubu’s message at the service, where he called on Nigerians to embrace religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence. His testimony about the harmony that exists within his own family between faiths, reminds us that our diversity is not a weakness but a divine strength.
As Governor, I remain committed to fostering peace and unity among the diverse people of Plateau State. I share the President’s belief that our collective progress as a nation depends on how well we live together in understanding and mutual respect.
On behalf of the government and the peace-loving people of Plateau State, I extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. President and the First Lady for standing with us and with the Yilwatda family in this moment of grief. Your visit once again reaffirms Plateau’s place as a symbol of unity and hospitality in our nation’s history.
I also took the opportunity to brief the President on the developmental strides we are making across critical sectors; agriculture, infrastructure, and urban renewal, through initiatives such as the Tin City Metro Buses and our renewed efforts to rebuild the Plateau economy. These efforts align closely with the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda, and we look forward to deepening collaboration with the Federal Government for the benefit of our people.
As a State, we stand firm in our commitment to peace, unity, and national progress. Together, we shall continue to build a Plateau and a Nigeria where every citizen can live, worship, and thrive without fear or division.
I was honoured to join His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on an official state visit to the Federative Republic of Brazil. The high-level engagement provided a unique opportunity for Nigeria to strengthen bilateral relations with Brazil and explore new frontiers of cooperation, particularly in trade, agriculture, and industrial development.
As part of the visit, I participated in strategic discussions and the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) designed to boost our national economy and create avenues for shared prosperity between our two countries.
For us in Plateau State, the visit carried even greater significance. Recently, Plateau was chosen as one of six states in Nigeria to host a regional hub of the Green Imperative $1.1 billion Project under the Nigeria–Brazil partnership. This landmark initiative is set to revolutionize agro-industrialisation, enhance food security, and create jobs for our people.
I remain committed to ensuring that Plateau fully leverages this partnership, positioning our state as a hub for agricultural transformation not only in Nigeria but across Africa.
Together with President Tinubu and other senior government officials, we worked towards building strong international alliances that will translate into tangible benefits for our people.
WE CANNOT BUILD A TRILLION-DOLLAR ECONOMY FROM THE TOP ALONE. WE MUST START FROM BOTTOM.
Yesterday, I had the honour of addressing distinguished policymakers, capital market stakeholders, and development partners at the National Workshop organized by the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS) at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja.
Themed “Capital Formation in Nigeria: Strengthening Industry, Institutions and Markets to Bolster a One Trillion Dollar Economy,” the workshop could not have come at a more critical time for our nation.
As Governor of Plateau State and a firm believer in the potential of our sub-nationals
I used the platform to emphasize a truth we must all confront: Nigeria cannot realize the trillion-dollar economy dream by 2030 without deliberately including the grassroots.
For too long, economic conversations have remained fixated on top-down models, neglecting the realities and potentials that lie within our informal sectors and rural communities. If we truly want growth that is inclusive, sustainable, and people-driven, we must begin by strengthening data collection and economic planning at the state level.
I made a call to the Federal Government and institutions like the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) to deepen collaboration with state-level data agencies, so that we can craft more realistic economic strategies rooted in local realities.
Agriculture, MSMEs, informal trade, rural innovation, these are not peripheral sectors. They are the beating heart of Nigeria’s real economy. On the Plateau, we are already building models that invest in these local value chains, and I encouraged my colleagues across the federation to do the same.
I also challenged us all to go beyond policy declarations. What we need now is coordinated action and implementation, anchored on bottom-up insights and sub-national contributions.
As I said during the workshop: “As long as we keep producing top-to-bottom statistics, we will continue making top-to-bottom decisions with limited impact.” We must reverse that tide.
I commend the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers for providing this important platform, and I align fully with the Federal Government’s call, as conveyed by Vice President Kashim Shettima’s representative, for bolder, market-driven reforms.
Together, with shared commitment and inclusive strategies, we can indeed turn the vision of a trillion-dollar economy into a lived reality for every Nigerian not just in the boardrooms of Lagos or Abuja, but in the villages of Langtang, the farms of Barkin Ladi, and the marketplaces of Jos.
Let us begin from the bottom, and build up strong, together, and unstoppable.
I am grateful to the good people of Plateau State for turning out in large numbers for our three-day spiritual programme. I applaud the Church for its sacrifices and unwavering partnership, and I assure everyone that the Unity Carols will remain an annual event.
It was a great honour and privilege to join President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, alongside my brother Governors, at the State House Banquet Hall, Abuja, for the official unveiling of a book in honour of the late President Muhammadu Buhari.
Titled “From Soldier to Statesman:
It was a profound honour to join family, friends, and well-wishers at the wedding solemnization of Simi and Emmanuel, daughter of the Gbong Gwom Jos, Da Jacob Gyang Buba. This joyous union further strengthens the bonds between Plateau and Cross River States, promoting peace.
It was a great honour to join my brother, the National Chairman of the APC, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe and the Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Daniel Naalong at the investiture of Hon. Dr. Jerry Joseph Damara, fNIPR (Kauran Kaltungo), as National
Today, January 2, 2026, I formally joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) after completing my registration and receiving my membership card at the Government House, Rayfield. I am grateful to God for His guidance, as this decision followed prayers, wide consultations,
