H.E. President @edmnangagwa commissions the Davipel Holdings Headquarters and the Davipel Snacks & Agri-Milling Stockfeeds Plant at the Sunway City Special Economic Zone in Harare.

The occasion marks another significant milestone in Zimbabwe’s industrialization journey, as indigenous businesses continue to answer the call to grow the economy.

In his remarks, the President described Davipel as a trailblazing company and a clear demonstration of the Second Republic’s commitment to private sector-led industrialisation and investment. He said its journey reflects entrepreneurial vision, resilience, determination and unwavering patriotism.

The President hailed the company’s projected growth, noting that it is wholly Zimbabwean-owned. He said Davipel has transformed from humble beginnings into a leading agro-industrial enterprise, employing more than 600 people and contributing to inclusive economic growth in line with the mantra “Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo.”

He commended Davipel for forging successful strategic partnerships and adopting an integrated approach. These synergies, he noted, have improved productivity and helped strengthen national food security. The investment also advances Zimbabwe’s import substitution agenda by strengthening local manufacturing capacity and reducing reliance on imported products.

President Mnangagwa reiterated Government’s commitment to building a diversified, competitive and export-oriented economy. “Our hardworking people remain our critical national asset. They possess the capacity, skills and innovation necessary to accelerate industrialization and drive our economic agenda in pursuit of Vision 2030,” he said.

The President urged emerging entrepreneurs to establish subsidiary manufacturing entities in provinces across the country in line with the rural industrialisation drive.

He further noted that Sunway Special Economic Zone now hosts more than 40 enterprises and is emerging as one of Zimbabwe’s premier industrial hubs. He urged other companies to take up space within the country’s Special Economic Zones.

The President stressed that policy consistency remains essential for sustaining industrial growth. He assured the business community that Government will continue to create a conducive business and policy environment.

In conclusion, President Mnangagwa called on the private sector and Government to expand synergies, innovate, and consolidate partnerships to increase production and position Zimbabwe as a regional manufacturing hub.
