@MaxxZimonick@EmmanuelAcho@jemelehill Proceeds to show video of throat punch, call it a slap to the throat idk, she was going for the throat. WNBA rules are players are ejected for retaliatory acts. What would you call that?
@mbrady2224@EmmanuelAcho@jemelehill lol, great game? She played 3 min. What do you even mean?! She didn’t play long enough to even have a “great game”. What are you even saying, CC has taken 184 free throws this season (28 games), Azzi Fudd has taken 23 (30 games). Optics look like the refs have been overly kind
Man, it sure is crazy that when Sophie and Dij did similar looking fouls, 1 becomes a villain and the other gets a profitable new career as a political agitator.
I wish there was some term that explained the wildly different standards applied to one group of people vs another...
@EmmanuelAcho You literally catered to the white conservative population during BLM. Of course you had some success bc you made them feel better about their racism w/key words. I know bc of the people I know who bought your books. This isn’t a flex. Candace Owens 2.0
it’s obvious you don’t watch the W. She’s not saying the foul itself was white privilege. She’s calling out the system & the bias in how similar fouls by white players weren’t upgraded or met with the same consequences. That’s literally her point. Put the mic down & pick up a 📚
My daughter plays sports. The last thing I’m worried about is her having a trans teammate or opponent. I’m far more worried about her male coaches and trainers. That’s the conversation we should be having.
@EmmanuelAcho@jemelehill Do the work yourself! No one should have to tell you. This how we know yall don’t watch and pay attention to the entire league.
@EmmanuelAcho@jemelehill ARE YOU LITERALLY JOKING?! Did you not even go back and watch what happened at all? Idk maybe when Sophie punched her…in the throat btw and was allowed to stay in the game
@EmmanuelAcho@DijonaiVictoria You do not speak for the majority and if you do it’s time for a cleaning house in the sports world because it’s compromised.
No. No. No. I have been saying g for 2 days that you all are ASSUMING and that she could mean a variety of things including Sophie not getting a double-ejection for retaliating like they did Jacy.
If unclear, it is a journalist job to ASK a follow up Q, and if no answer is available, then to responsibly lay out various possibilities (which I did)
That last paragraph is a convenient way to avoid taking full accountability for your own assumption. Being in a “speaker-oriented” culture does not absolve the listener of basic media literacy or the responsibility to distinguish between what was actually said and what they inferred.
You PUBLICLY assigned meaning and context to her words that she did not provide. If your interpretation required an assumption, then the burden was on YOU to VERIFY that assumption before presenting it as her position to an AUDIENCE.
“I assumed wrong, but you should’ve been clearer” is not standing corrected. It’s standing ignorant.
@EmmanuelAcho@DijonaiVictoria It wasn’t the assumption of anyone that isn’t racist and actually watched the game. Stop commenting on the W if you aren’t going to watch every game. You’re missing out on the number of times certain white players aren’t getting the same calls as the black players.
@EmmanuelAcho It was extremely clear. You just wanted to make assumptions. @DijonaiVictoria is smart and direct. Had you watched the game you would know she wasn’t talking about the foul. Hell, if you had even watched a min before & a min after “the foul”. Please don’t comment on the W
Imagine if Iran bombed Washington and killed students in schools, what would you call it? Terrorists
The U.S. and Israel bombed Tehran and killed students in schools. Why do you call it a "pre-emptive strike"?
Bombing a school is a war crime under international humanitarian law
