Veganism isn't about being immediately perfect. Reality doesn't permit that.
Veganism is about being the kindest version of yourself.
It's about facing ethical challenges NOT by leaning on shaky excuses, but saying, "I'll find a way to be better, even if it takes me a while."
This might be a controversial take, but I don't think that opposing your own oppression makes you a leftist, if you gleefully defend lots of other existing systems of oppression.

This is what I've been telling people. I would not be surprised if this guy was framed so that authorities can point and say:
"This is what will happen. We will find you."
It's not about justice but sending a message even if it's a false arrest.
