While officiating at the 4th graduation ceremony of over 16,000 beneficiaries of the presidential skilling programme at Kololo this afternoon, I highlighted Africa’s biggest problem of disorientation. You find that everything they are using is imported. It is a big curse for Africans to import clothes, shoes, chairs, etc. You even see people living in the tropics importing furniture from Dubai, a desert! That is a big curse to themselves.

Therefore, what our skilling programme is doing is to wake up these young people to say, you can make money from satisfying human needs; need of food, clothing, shelter, transport, all those are needs that you can fulfil, and, in the process, you get income for yourself. Since 2017, we have been training these young people for free. I am now challenging the political and administrative class: why can't we introduce free education as we had planned in all the government schools?

Finally, I assured the youth that we will get capital for them provided they agree to work in groups (area by area). I thank them for completing their courses and wish them good luck.
