Ben-Yehuda and his colleagues didn’t speak Arabic. Most of the Arabic in contemporary Hebrew is modern slang.

The largest source of new words was existing Hebrew roots that were repurposed. Then Latin and Greek, sometimes via Russian. Very little borrowing was from Arabic

When I saw this video about Jill Stein in AOC’s stories yesterday, I was shocked.

Not because I thought AOC was a major Jill Stein fan, but because she used much stronger language than I expected.

AOC says that Jill Stein’s approach to politics is “predatory” and “not serious.”

She adds that Stein just shows up every four years, has not grown her movement at all, and is a bad leader.

(Stein skipped 2020 but ran in 2012, 2016, and now in 2024)

@JoshuaBHoe @akela_lacy Repentance is not always enough. For example, my relative has been disbarred and is barred from any securities related work as they are directly related to his convictions. Being sorry will not change the fact that he is unfit to work in this capacity.
