Congratulations to @Frazier_Edwards, who was a major partner in our series of Rural Health Summits, as well as the consequent forming of the Rural Health Association of Arkansas. #RuralHealthAR https://t.co/ecUiQp2vbv
Physicians train longer than other medical professionals for a reason. It is in the interest of patients to have honesty and transparency with the use of professional designations of nonphysician clinicians, and to maintain physician-led, team-based care. https://t.co/Gj9gBJvpCt

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the news that our AOMA board member and treasured friend Dr. Travis Richardson of Jonesboro, Arkansas has suddenly passed away. Words cannot describe how passionate Dr. Travis Richardson was about the osteopathic profession.
Dr. Richardson was an amazing orthopedic and spine surgeon, and his generosity and kind words were unmatched. He received the Arkansas Osteopathic Medical Association George Bean, D.O. Memorial Outstanding Physician Award in 2019.
The AOA congratulates Kevin O'Connor, DO on being named @WhiteHouse physician by President Biden and succeeding fellow DO Dr. Sean Conley. DOs have proved their expertise to both Republican and Democratic presidents, and we commend this decision and what it means for all DOs.
Exclusion of DOs is inexcusable. DOs are fully licensed physicians with unrestricted practice rights in all 50 states, like MDs. Both complete #medschool and residency, pass required licensure exams, and participate in rigorous certification and CME programs. #ChooseDO#DOProud
Specifically in our state of Arkansas, we want to thank our DO physicians and our two osteopathic schools @NYITCOMAR & @acheedu for educated the next generation of DOs. Our Arkansas #medstudents continue to inspire us & we โค๏ธ their passion! #DOproud

Retweet if you're:
Proud to be DO
Proud to be related to a DO
Proud to work with DOs
Proud to be treated by DOs

There have been some uninformed opinions shared through the media about DO physicians in the past few weeks.
The AOMA wants to show our support of the over 151K #DOs throughout the US to โฌ๏ธ awareness of Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine! @AOAforDOs#DOproud
DOs are 11% of the physician workforce and are equivalent to MDs. Misleading statements by the media and even public figures undermine their credibility, and have hurt more than 151,000 doctors and medical students. Please share and help this country separate fact from fiction.
Thank you @latimes for your concise and correct description of the difference between a DO and MD. Donโt know the difference? Click the link below or visit the @AOAforDOs website to learn for yourself. #DOproud#osteopathic https://t.co/3iuYrwgy0w
Political belief is subjective. A license to practice medicine at the highest level is NOT. @MSNBC must do better for the heroes looking after public health so their anchors can live privileged lives on the air. @maddow@Lawrence#GetItRight
It is this kind of uneducated opinion that perpetuates ignorant thinking of osteopathic medicine. @bessbell Do your homework before you insult almost 151,000 osteopathic physicians & students in our country, many of whom are saving lives daily in every area of medicine.
.@bessbell Osteopathic *physicians* DO go to medical school and complete the same amount of education and residency as their MD colleagues. They are fully qualified *physicians.*
If you don't want non-medical doctors performing surgery, vote AGAINST Issue 6 on the November ballot. Medical school and residency training matters to you AND to all Arkansas patients. Visit Safe Surgery Arkansas to learn more. https://t.co/bvEMMraIpP
@arosteopathic supports our students in their med school journey by offering to buy white coats for all @acheedu ARCOM and @NYITCOMAR students. We put an @arosteopathic patch on the coat so students know they have the full support of the stateโs DOs that have come before them.
