2027 Men's ODI World Cup Format (Cricinfo):

Step 1 - Super Series (Preliminary Qualifier).

The three lowest-ranked teams compete in a separate round with one team advances to the main tournament, rest two teams will be eliminated.

This leaves 12 teams for the group stage:

Step 2 - Group Stage (Group of 6 each).

Each team plays the others in its group which is likely to be round-robin.

Top 3 teams from each group automatically advance.

The next highest-placed team across both groups (4th best overall) also advances.

This creates a Super Sevens stage with 7 teams.

Step 3 - Super Sevens Stage.

Details on exact matches to be confirmed, Top 4 teams from this stage qualify for the semi-finals.

Saying this again , this bilateral tour, and this historic series win against India, were only possible because Ireland were promoted to Full Member status by ICC in 2017, along with increased funding.

Now imagine the same level of funding for the Netherlands, Scotland, and Nepal.

We have teams capable of competing. What we lack is a fair revenue distribution model and greater investment in emerging associate nations.

Netherlands and Scotland should be granted Full Member status as soon as possible. It is long overdue @JayShah !!

If any Associate deserves Full Member status, it's Scotland. Outstanding performances in both Men's and Women's World Cups despite minimal ICC funding.

If Ireland are Full Members and Afghanistan have no women's team yet remain Full Members, Scotland and the Netherlands deserve it too.

It looks amazing already but imagine if the grass quality becomes like Chepauk’s then it would look absolutely stunning.
