@NikonFaces@AlbertEinstein ...and that's the point, to prevent disruptive theories from being purposed in the first place because institutional prestige is based on KNOWING not on EXPLORING. They install celebrity scientists in the media to prevent other scientists from having a say.
@PaulBush1240274@PhysInHistory Most highly intelligent people never innovate a single thing, in fact they are usually the very last to give up false models because they are much better at rationalizing due to their intelligence. What matters is independence of spirit which is much rarer.
@mattyglesias The democrtatic party is in search of stage props it can move aound in an ill-fated effort to convinve Americans that it represents an alternative to full Nazism.
Both parties have thier puppets, each has its theater, but for the theater to work it must include Nazi spactaculars.
@mattyglesias I don’t really understand what’s going on in the Jones Town community this spring, it’s like they are having a psychotic break where they can’t notice the deep unpopularity of Jim Jones and his allies such that they who control Congress are a bit concerned.
@pboldosser@Noahpinion That's true. But if one set of propaganda talking points is about the value of bigotry while the other set of propaganda talking points is about the value of equality I'll be happy that the 2nd set of propaganda points is selling better than the first.
@skdh The look of it is horrifying, if it were a wall the fire department would be soon to arrive. An example of fractals perhapes since it looks exactly like a small piece of smoldering cloth instead of a whole planet burning. Soon we will be living on Giedi Prime
@cosmicfibretion@pmarca The North Korean military are defenders of freedom, they defend the right of the local tyrant to be free to do anything that they desire, so in that sense are defenders of freedom. Beware anyone who claims to defend freedom, they often mean they defend the freedom of oppressors
@io_aircraft_inc@skdh Lets have camps for consentrating all the scientists so they don't say anything political. That way even if politicains are free to misrepresent science at least scientists can't misrepresent politics. We shoud have such camps for nonscioentists too so we are all safe from error.
@johnrobb Its a saying that a nation gets the leader that "it" (meaning the majority of its people) deserves, so if we assume that this is true what leader do the majority of Americans deserve? I shudder to think given how the majority drive, even the cars themselves look fascist.
@gtconway3d In politics the moral high ground is a liability, there needs to be mud to slither about in such as found in the low ground. Both the left and the right are equally capable of creating a road to hell because its not about the left or right its about raw power and the aristocracy
@skdh Not one of them is a theory of UNCONSCIOUSNESS yet reductionist materialism is founded on the idea that the universe is mostly unconscious, even that consciousness may be an illusion. If we can not prove consciousness we can not prove unconsciousness ether, both claims are empty
@alexgrenier@skdh in a consumerist culture one is validated by the chance to consume, in a capitalist culture an activity is validated if it generates profit when the needs of both consumption and profiteering are detrimental to science. Our culture is scam based, not science based.
@skdh - they should mention detailed sources of inspiration and explain differences in approaches and results. A positive citation by another rock and roll star is a key measure of visibility for a lesser rockers own work.

@skdh Lets rewrite the first paragraph: "Composing and writing songs relased on albums and presented at concerts is a central part of being a rock and roller. When the musicians write a really rocking song they must cite the work of peers during interviews to provide context-
@skdh Most persons claim to go by evidence but actually go by authority instead, its not the experiment, its who did the experiment, its not the facts its who established the facts, its not the belief its the alliances that the belief facilitates.
