This is me presenting our latest work on hinged floating and flat structures at the UK Fluids Conference 2023 at @UniStrathclyde. Thanks @VOILAb_UoE for the photo!

What a great first day at #EWTEC2023!!! @EWTEC
I am pleased to announce that our new paper on vortex flow of downwind sails led by @arre_abel (formerly @VOILAb_UoE ) and with Holger Babinsky @Cambridge_Uni has been published in Flow!!!

@GeoMcclaurin @LiftWec Of course that is true. This is an initial academic excercise. For a large scale prototype we can think of ways to yaw the device into a dominant wave direction. Note that the multi directionality of wind energy was not a show stopper for developing wind turbines.
Lift-based wave energy converters will become, one day, a conventional #offshore#marine#renewable#energy#device (mark this tweet)...In the meantime, please have a look at our latest @LiftWEC publication in Renewable Energy, here: https://t.co/K6GfsQ4vDr
