While I fully support individuals' right to expression, however this has become an omnipresent problem.

Alcohol consumption, dietary choices, and clothing are matters of personal choice. Adults should be free to make those decisions without being judged, as long as they do not harm others.

The problem begins when these choices are portrayed as the defining markers of women's empowerment. The major culprit is Bollywood, which often glamorizes sex, substance abuse, and alcoholism as symbols of liberation, reducing empowerment to lifestyle choices rather than agency, dignity, and opportunity

Not all women subscribe to this narrative. I know many empowered women who work, protest, earn, make independent decisions, and take care of themselves and their parents, all while navigating a male-dominated patriarchal society.
