It would make sense for a job that has bare minimum requirements at least provide you with a bare minimum amount of money to live and as you work jobs with more requirements you get more money

If all the people working those jobs leave they'll be replaced fast by someone who can't risk passing up on a job opportunity. Unfair pay better than none
