I’m glad conservatives like @MattWalshblog are saying this. Nowadays, too many putatively “gay conservatives” are actually on the progressive ledger in their interchangeable views of human nature. Willing the impossible and cosplaying anthropological fictions are anti-conservative.
About children, there is no “right” to them at all. God bestows children on whom He wills. Moreover, there is only a “right” if there's a corresponding actuality. Potentiality does not confer a right; only successful reproduction does. Even then, we can only say that parents have a right to their child in the same way that a child has a right to his or her own parents.
But fundamentally, biology and the body do not invidiously discriminate. Nature self-selects for the conditions of reproduction, and homosexuals are disqualified—not by law, not unfair majorities, not by Christians, not by mean conservatives, but by their own proclivities. And thus, there is no inherent or potential right to children if one’s sexual desires frustrate the natural teleology of the body. Regardless, children should not be thought of as a “right,” but a “gift.”
Then out spake brave Horatius,
The Captain of the gate:
‘To every man upon this earth
Death cometh soon or late.
And how can man die better
Than facing fearful odds,
For the ashes of his fathers,
And the temples of his gods
When things are moving very fast and people are losing their minds, it’s important to stay grounded. Turn off your phone, read scripture, spend time with friends, and remember internet fury is not real life. It’s going to be ok.
Great Britain is no longer a free country. In fact, there are things you can say in Iran, Saudi Arabia, China, and possibly even North Korea that you can’t say in Britain without risking persecution.
Baby-boomer academics, my own generation of university professors and administrators, began filling the ranks of higher education in the late 1970s. We inherited a fabulous higher education system that welcomed a vast range of debates. Now, as our cohort completes retirement, we leave behind a system that is, though ever more impressive in many respects, much diminished in a dimension critical to teaching how to think: intellectual diversity. The present intellectual monoculture of US higher education has facilitated the takeover of many university functions by woke activists and their woke-tolerant allies.
In our remaining years as active academics, the most valuable service that my baby-boomer cohort can do for higher education is help our universities and other academic institutions diversify their intellectual climate. We can make a difference by (1) being more welcoming to academics who challenge our presumptions; (2) doing our very best to encourage faculty and students to ask controversial questions and pursue truths wherever they lead; (3) trying to keep our activist colleagues from politicizing academia.
All this is necessary regardless of decisions made in Washington. Resisting harmful federal policies (such as hostility to foreign students) is compatible with self-reflection and internal reform. Our deep financial crisis is no excuse for delaying steps essential to restoring intellectual diversity on our campuses.

Over the last 2 days the Assisted Suicide Bill Committee has REFUSED amendments to exclude people with impaired judgement, the depressed and suicidal, prisoners and homeless people, those 'unduly influenced' by others, or those who are doing it because they feel a burden. 1/3
Few Americans consider gender a social construct. So most pronoun use has served merely to signal fealty to wokeism. With wokeism now in retreat, wise politicians are quietly removing pronouns from their websites and emails. Examples: AOC, Pete Buttigieg. (🧵1/7)
