EVERY PROBLEM in this world can be solved when you treat the ignorance of a common man and the apathy of a powerful man. This is an undeniably certain fact/thought.
It's a difference of opinion caused by partial exposure to life's realities (no offence). There exist underprivileged families that specifically instruct their children, sometimes even command them to not dream of luxury, as it may lead to discontent. This isn't universal but is more common than you might think. This also isn't the case only with Third World countries and families with poor financial backgrounds. Surely, we've seen romance movies where the male protagonist shies away from asking a beautiful girl out on a date because he believes her to be ‘out of his league' and all the while, the girl is madly in love with the boy and was just waiting for him to make the first move.
A kid not raising his hand to ask a question in a classroom because he's been shamed before never chases moments of profound insights, never shares his epiphanies with people all his life because he has convinced himself that his thoughts are worthless.
A curvy woman reluctantly hanging a stunning dress back on the rack in a shopping mall, a teenager silencing his dream of becoming a musician for a more “practical” career, a 70 year old man gazing at a travel brochure tossing it aside believing it's too late. There are endless more examples.
We are naturally wired to adapt. Imaginary limitations force us to adapt to the mediocre, one hesitant decision can start a habit that becomes a lifestyle. Courage to dream big should be taught and instilled in children.
