The Sports Dispute Tribunal (SDT) caused this confusion. The league was running on the 2025 revised regulations until the Nairobi United-Gor Mahia case. This December 21, 2025 abandoned game is the genesis of all problems. In March, the SDT found the 2025 regulations were null and void and that the league should run on the 2019 regulations. With this knowledge, clubs knew a problem would come up at the end of the season. The end of the season came and Sharks challenged their relegation at the SDT in August based on what the SDT had ruled in March only for the SDT to overrule itself saying the rules they found null and void in March are now VALID! So Sharks sought judicial review.

Harambee Stars players have resolved not to train ahead of Saturday’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Eritrea at Nyayo National Stadium following a meeting among themselves.

The players, who reported to camp today, want to meet either President William Ruto or Sports Ministry officials to address a number of welfare and logistical concerns.

Among the issues raised are accommodation, with the players claiming they have been staying in substandard hotels during both home and away assignments.

They have also raised concerns over flight arrangements, saying they have often been booked on cheaper flights involving lengthy layovers despite better and more convenient options being available.

The players are also demanding the settlement of all outstanding allowances before they resume training.

You are free to support or critique any administration. But do not insult the public’s intelligence by presenting half the picture and calling it courage.

Kenyans are not passive spectators who can be impressed by ribbon-cuttings, shiny buildings and staged site visits. They are citizens engaging with the full record of governance; the public debt, taxation, cost of living, insecurity, service delivery, stalled projects, procurement questions and unfulfilled political commitments.

If you want to discuss development, then discuss governance comprehensively my friends. Account for the policy choices, the financing, the public expenditure, the outcomes and the opportunity cost. Put the achievements alongside the failures, the commitments alongside the implementation, and the publicity alongside the evidence.

Do not reduce public accountability to a tour of projects that photograph well.

What you are doing is political damage control disguised as content.

Kenyans are capable of reading beyond the headlines. They know the difference between genuine public-interest analysis and government PR.
