❗️ISRO will launch NVS-03 with its pyro valve open!
Given the critical nature of this mission, ISRO has decided to launch the NVS-03 satellite on GSLV-F18 with its pyrotechnic main oxidizer valve pre-fired into open state, to avoid a failure like its predecessor NVS-02.
NVS-02 had failed to reach its final Geostationary orbit despite a successful launch into GTO on GSLV-F15 after the main oxidizer valve on its 440N Liquid Apogee Motor thruster failed to open, leaving it unable to ignite the thruster. This stranded the satellite in its transfer orbit, rendering it unusable.
ISRO had formed an Apex Committee to review the observations leading up to the failure and the committee had determined the cause of failure to be the electrical drive signal to open the valve not reaching the valve as a result of the "disengagement of atleast one contacts (in each of the main and redundant paths) of the connector."

@AgnikulCosmos The booster looks much taller than it should compared to the landing pad. The video is only a concept, so the size and proportions may not be accurate.

NEW NOTAM
🚀 ISRO’s GSLV-F18 carrying the NVS-03 navigation satellite is expected to launch from Sriharikota between 30 Oct and 11 Nov 2026. A NOTAM lists the daily launch window as 10:30 PM–2:30 AM IST, with the exact date to be announced 24 hours ahead. #ISRO
Why is no one talking about this mission?
Last year, ISRO performed docking and undocking experiments, essential for India’s space station and Chandrayaan-4.
ISRO revealed that both satellites re-entered Earth’s atmosphere on October 12.
This mission deserves more attention.
ISRO’s SPADEX mission achieved historic autonomous docking, power transfer, undocking and payload operations.
After completing its objectives, SPADEX-A and B re-entered Earth’s atmosphere on October 12, 2026, over the South Pacific and North Atlantic, respectively.

🚀 ISRO has demonstrated laser-based ignition for GOX-GH₂ and GOX-GCH₄ propellants. The integrated LME1100 engine targets readiness by mid-2027, while design work on a 2,400 kN LOX-Methane engine using the Full Flow Staged Combustion Cycle is complete.
ISRO completed sub-scale thrust chamber hot tests at IPRC for the LME1100 engine. The campaign evaluated injector performance, validated manufacturing techniques, and demonstrated oxidizer-rich and fuel-rich spark torch igniters, supporting full-scale thrust chamber development.
🚀 @isro has successfully conducted the first ignition test of its full-scale, additively manufactured Gas Generator (GG) on October 9, 2026, at IPRC. The tests will help qualify the system and advance indigenous LOX-Methane propulsion technology for future launch vehicles.
