Without these interpreters it would have been impossible for us to accomplish our mission and communicate with the people. I had no air support where I was most of the time. There was only 4 of us on my team, me, my NCO, my interpreter and a mechanic. I had 8 Afghan police stations that I was responsible for providing equipment for to defend themselves against the Taliban. What do you think would’ve happened if we had no means to communicate with the Afghan police?????

Trump declares an international lake shared with another sovereign country “Lake America” — and GOOGLE FUCKING MAPS obediently changes it for American users. Canada still sees Lake Ontario. Much of the rest of the world gets both names. Americans get Trump's alternate reality.

WHY THE FUCK IS @googlemaps PARTICIPATING IN THIS?

Trump cannot rename Canada's part of Lake Ontario. He cannot order Canada to call it Lake America. Yet one of the most powerful information companies on Earth is helping turn one man's political stunt into the “geography” Americans see.

And then the media turns the spectacle into headline news while PEOPLE ARE ACTUALLY SUFFERING.

We have an affordability crisis. A healthcare crisis. Americans are being sent into harm's way. And the President is spending his time renaming lakes to piss off Canada while Google changes the map and the press feeds the spectacle.
