It’s incredible to think about the journey that I’ve been on since turning 18 and leaving sixth form. 2016-17 - FAD at Central College 17-18 - 1st year of a Foundation Degree in Art at Nottingham College 2018-21 - Design Crafts at DMU.

Here I am sprinkling coloured frit through a sieve to fill in the holes of my stencil!

So here is what I rolled into with my glass which then picked up these colours which represent Nottingham's sports stadiums.

The other structure that I chose to represent was the National Ice Arena where Olympic champions Torvil and Dean trained! I represeted this using the colours of royal blue and lava red because after watching their olympic routine their those colours were in their outfits!

Then another superb stadium is the Trent Bridge Cricket Ground and to colour that I used the colours of Notts County Cricket Club who play their home fixtures at the cricket ground and they play in green and yellow so I used canary yellow and seed green frit!

So Notts County Cricket Club play at Meadow Lane and they play in black and white so I used K2054 black firt and soft white for the stands of the stadium and I used K2074 seed green for the football pitch which is visible from Google Earth. #meadowlane #Nottingham #nottscounty

This was the map that I made using the waterjet cutter! Each sporting stadium that I have cut out has their own sporting colours which is representative of culture!

Ah the map that I made was using satellite pictures from google earth! Here you can see the river Trent - which flows through Nottingham; Trent Bridge Cricket Ground; The City Ground; Meadow Lane; and The National Ice Arena!

Now I can focus on describing how I represented the stadiums using the colours of the sports teams that play there! The City Ground I represented using Lava red and soft white frit because they are the colours of Nottingham Forest!

I use my metal mould as a stencil to sprinkle glass frit into the shapes that I had cut out of the metal to represent the stadiums and the river Trent! I used Sari Blue frit to colour the river Trent because water is blue! #Nottinghamshire

So I've been creating maps of Nottingham which include Nottingham's sporting stadiums. I have experimented with blowing into my metal moulds, however now I have experimented with using my metal mould as a stencil! Stay tuned...

Within their work the Mersey river was a key feature to their work so I wanted the River Trent to be key in my work. So this was very exciting!!

So the week was from 15/03-19/03/2021. It was a lot like the week previous week. So my hot shop session was on Wednesday but this time I cut my metal mould on the waterjet cutter on the Friday! #dmu #hotglass

Also on the Friday of this week I made another design to be waterjet cut! This was my Nottingham design of the sporting structures of the city. This design was inspired by Jeffrey Sarmiento & Inges Panneels Liverpool Map.
