1984 short film Orpheus and Eurydice by animator Lesley Keen🏺
The entire film is masterfully animated in the exact style of ancient Greek red-figure and black-figure pottery. Without a single word of dialogue, characters glide across the screen like a rotating classical vase.
Ever wondered why televisions all of a sudden became "smart?"
The advent of the TV-as-a-computer has enabled all kinds of functionality; but with this, our content delivery systems have become real-deal black mirrors.
Let's take a look at how your TV watches YOU...

@gabewildau@katrosenfield OK but right NOW it is only 2026, so maybe let's not pretend that a mass psychosis of witchhunts and all the resulting side effects has just disappeared already...
@TezzaLap@WomenReadWomen They just give him attention because they want to stick it to elon, the same way maga does everything they do just to stick it to the wokies.
@lapislagoons If you're exclusive, you are "official" partners regardless of what you want to call it. Expectations should ALWAYS be discussed openly an maintained. There's a difference between "dating for now" and "building towards marriage," sure, but it isn't whatever this is.
I have no opinion on the article, as I haven’t read it. But this phenomenon is happening because, with very few exceptions, the last 20 years has taught people that to be optimistic about tech is to be a rube
Those of us whose natural disposition is “this could be great!” looked stupid time and time again as the promise of progress was revealed to be a get-rich-and-get-out scheme for a few thousand people. Or a new way to mine our data. Or an environmental disaster. Or an illegal grift. Or a surveillance tool. Or yet another middleman inserted into our lives, driving up cost and then making our experiences worse
It’s utterly unsurprising that the people who write about it have started to end-run to the part where tech gets bad, where something cool gets co-opted by evil losers who seem to hate humanity
I wish it weren’t so, but Tech Optimism is dead, and it’s the tech scene’s fault
We are mammals. We have hair. Women are not unhygienic, gross or whatever other insult you use, simply because we may choose not to remove the same body hair that men have.
If you think body hair on women is gross, please, for everyone’s sake, grow up.
I'm so disappointed in how @ewarren has abandoned women and girls. We knew exactly what kind of man Platner was BEFORE this latest rape accusation. How could you have endorsed this? https://t.co/QoickhHn38
@jessesingal I've only been through parts of Baja, but I freakin' love it. The wine country between Tijuana and Ensenada is like Tuscany, but cheap! And everyone is so nice!
Ring, Amazon's doorbell camera company, says its tech just makes neighborhoods safer. Critics contend that it’s the largest privately owned surveillance dragnet in US history, with significant potential for abuse.
