There's no "one way" to write a book. You want to speed-draft? Or write clean precise 1st drafts? Go for it. Write as a hobby, for money, solely for yourself? Write everyday or just once a week? Hire a demon to write while you lie on the carpet eating croissants? VALID all of it.

I’m always confused when I hear people say “YA is my guilty pleasure.” I want to ask “What is guilty about it?” Because for so many of us the work that is being done in YA is still life-changing, life-saving, even into our adulthoods. I’ll never feel guilty for loving that.
