My friend @DrPaulBehrens does important work. He does research. He teaches. He wrote a book. He did a TEDx talk. He is frightened, yet hopeful, about the state of humanity and our planet. Give his TEDx talk a watch. https://t.co/QzI6VFoZr1 #climatechange#hope
@CraigBaird We talking lake coasts? What do we call those? Shore line? Like, how about ALL of the Saskatchewan lakes? Manitoba lakes? Grand Beach on Lake Winnipeg is pretty spectacular.
@chollettgarrett@hankgreen Me too. Although now I've got the family plan and i *think* it's the most expensive subscription we've got. But... ads, man.
@306elk@DPCmom@steve_boots In uni, I had an afternoon job where I coached homeschooled kids once a week for "physical activity." Encouraging participation was like pulling teeth. I coached kids with "behavioural issues" a different day who were fun, had social skills, listened & willingly participated.
If teachers have taken 121 strike days in 5 months, have I some news for you...
Did you know, teachers have delivered over 30 MILLION school days since the begin of bargaining and @jeremycockrill hasn't even spent 1 minute at the bargaining table?
#ISupportSTF 🧵
Psychologists, speech pathologists, etc. I love sports and extracurriculars! Ensuring schools/teachers/students have what they need on EVERY DAY OF THE SCHOOL YEAR is what this is about. WITHOUT future claw-back. PUT IT IN THE CONTRACT! @PremierScottMoe@jeremycockrill
Let's all remember this moment every time Jeremy and the GTBC refuse to bargain on violence in the classroom and brush off story's and pictures of teachers with broken bones (noses, jaws, etc.) #skpoli#saskedchat#ISupportSTF https://t.co/Ojg2LhR7aM
@brentm25@Kim20323007@PremierScottMoe Sidestepping the process, signing a piecemeal agreement that is limited and time-bound is not fantastic news. All the STF wants is to have assurances that funding will be there on an ongoing basis… not just 4 years.
Thank you to the Sask School Board Trustees who have spoken out and supported teachers.
Threats to local boards’ existence and selective cuts to school division funding are a too recent memory for many board trustees to feel comfortable speaking publicly.
The @SaskParty gov’t & @SaskSchoolBoard prov. leadership are avoiding fulfilling their responsibilities. Gov’t doesn’t want long term funding, SSBA doesn’t want accountability for the decisions. This should be about what students deserve, not about individual political interests.
The only way Jeremiah can get positive press coverage is by paying for it. Which is paid by taxpayers btw. Can't get anymore corrupt #ISupportSTF#skpoli
@PremierScottMoe This is nothing to brag about. It’s disgraceful how this puts teachers and divisions against each other when real funding and change is needed to support schools and children’s learning. You really shouldn’t be proud of funding 9 projects for the ENTIRE province. #fundeducation
@PremierScottMoe A pilot funding program that can/will be discontinued and has teachers competing against other teachers in the hope of securing funding for a few selected classrooms for a short period is NOT properly funding education. Do better!
@SKGov Put classroom complexity into the agreement. Pilot projects are NOTHING. Grant programs are NOTHING. You can’t be that dumb. Teachers aren’t dumb. I’d love to be utterly surprised to see this government do the right thing for once. Parents, teachers and students have spoken.
