What amazes me is how Kagurabachi works no matter what.

Just the other day, I was mourning Samura's death, then Chihiro's defeat... And now we're at a point in the story where Chihiro doesn't even exist yet, and Samura hasn't even been mentioned.

When a story is truly great, it stands on its own and remains incredibly engaging even when the "main characters" aren't around.

At the beginning of Kagurabachi, it was almost impossible to imagine a chapter without Chihiro. Now, with the series having matured so much, Hokazono-sensei can do exactly that without ever making the reader feel like something is missing.

That's the level of storytelling Hokazono-sensei consistently delivers. Incredible characters, an incredible story, breathtaking art and phenomenal action. And even when the chapters step away from the action for a while, everything is so carefully crafted and purposeful that you never feel its absence.
