Remember that the existence of Long Covid and the fact that millions of people worldwide are suffering from it creates an extraordinary dissonance in the minds of a section of the population who wish to believe the falsity that Covid is no longer dangerous, and perhaps never was.
Three Mile Island is back... and comes with data centers. Just what we all need, right? More data centers?

@jonsac@_ConnieShaw I enjoyed this conversation thank you! I wish I'd been half as engaged as you when I was your age. @_ConnieShaw you mentioned population and getting "the fertility rate up". I'm curious what your thoughts are on how to address overshoot and the catastrophic decline of wildlife.
@_CryMiaRiver Hi Mia, what's the best critique of Jack Turban that you've found? My library is highlighting his book for "pride month" and I've requested a meeting with the collections dept., I want to go in fully ready. Thank you!!
@WLDdefense I just donโt understand, until I remember the ranching lobby. Itโs about cows and moneyโฆ they donโt care about the wildlife or habitat in the slightest. ๐คฌ๐คฌ๐คฌ
Plummeting wildlife numbers is us, we are the cause of the catastrophic, ongoing wildlife holocaust currently underway. It will ultimately be our own undoing.
"So far this year, 25 gray whales have been found dead in Washington, making this yearโs count the third highest in a half century, and the migration season is not over yet."
Of course whales are dying. We're killing the natural world.
"Average bird counts across Seattle dropped by 21% from 2005 to 2023, according to a new study from Birds Connect Seattle."
Of course they are. We're killing the natural world.
Aftermath of (inevitable) Longview pulp mill industrial accident: "...nearly 2,000 fish had been found in ditches and sloughs in west Longview. Authorities expected the number of reported dead fish would continue to grow."
