That's about 4% of global high-growth companies. Which is kind of 3.6 Roentgen.

Better than our share of GDP.

A bit crap considering the scale of our innovation - our early stage pipeline has been stellar. We cannot scale companies. They cannot get late stage funding here.

Which means the upside - IP, equity or the company itself - often ends up going elsewhere.

There are many structural reasons for that, but the cumulative picture is of a country that just isn't that friendly to these 'high growth' companies Hutton touts as a reason for confidence in our economy.

(His '3rd largest innovation economy' is, I suspect, based on number of unicorns in 2026. How many are still here in 2028 remains to be seen.)
