@SpotifyUK Please stop unnecessarily redesigning your desktop app. It was fine before. I could select an album from a full-screen view of my library. Y'know, like any decent music app since music apps have been a thing. Now the library is crammed into 1/3 of my screen. Why?
I know it's not #genuary and more, but I have a few days to catch up, due to some late research proposal cramming.
Euclidian rhythms, field recordings, filter banks, and small-integer-ratio synthetic melodies. #supercollider#genuary2021

@tempest67 I think all my generative stuff is in sclang or VCVrack actually. I've used Reaper for the human composition side, either sending note/CC MIDI data to SC, or exporting a file to read with SimpleMIDIFile. Python is great, but i've never used it for anything real-time...
@tempest67 I'm glad you're enjoying it! I'm mastering the Genuary tracks for release soon, along with some kind of graphic score, so do keep an eye open if you're interested in how the code behind it works. In the mean time, good luck learning Supercollider!
Adoring fans, I have almost sold out. Get in there while it's still cool.
I'm on Bandcamp. Follow me to be the first to hear when I release new music: https://t.co/ge3K10X5sW

Here y'go! 29-30 is realtime and plots the output graphically, 31 is NRT and just makes audio, allowing more boids. Slightly hacky physics (beware of infs), but all within the spirit of boids.
Enjoy!
Six days into February, i'm done with #genuary. Gen31 is an extension of Gen29-30. Based on the oblique strategies 'is it finished?' and 'mechanise something idiosyncratic', I added four more drone flocks and build them into a cadence. #genuary2021#drone

@petecorey Thanks!
Yep, this is entirely in SC, other that a little audio postprocessing.
I was heavily inspired by Fredrik Olofsson's SC audiovisuals. Turns out it's very easy to do simple physics sims: https://t.co/QExUD400bI
I'll get my code up on github for you in a sec!
Continuing the late #genuary2021 catch-up. Here's a drone piece made from an implementation of 'boids' flocking algorithm for #genuary Day 30, which also accidentally satisfied day 29. #supercollider#drone

There's infinite depth in exploring even basic generative grammar models for rhythm. I found myself getting lost in sound, making this meditative piece. It was going to be relevant to the prompt, but that plan changed. #genuary2021#genuary#supercollider

#genuary Day 22: Wrong Line. Sometimes the quick, offhand pieces are the ones I like best. Freed from attempting 'good', I do what I enjoy. In this case it's noisy textural granular drone with layers of field recordings. #genuary2021#supercollider#faust

I'm not overly happy with this piece for #genuary Day 21, but I finished it, so i'm posting it. Maybe i'll revisit the concept later... #supercollider#pianobook https://t.co/Ma2RuK0knc
This one took a lot of hacking... Ambient doesn't mean easy. I'm glad I stuck with it though. A harmonic journey through the Tonnetz Lattice driven by the interplay between growth and decay. #genuary#genuary2021#supercollider#ambient

For audio #genuary 18/19, i'm trying to make a system that walks tones around the Tonnetz. And it just ain't playing nice. In the meantime, please enjoy a little rainy ambience for Day 20. #genuary2021#supercollider#ambient

For #genuary Day 17: Crab canon à la Jo Bach, played as an electronic 'klangfarbenmelodie'. Modal synthesis struggling to hit the right pitch, alongside the wonky generative drums, gives the tune a turgid and confused feel. #genuary2021#VCVrack

At first thought, circles don't really fit music. But, in fact, revisiting my rules for Day 7, pitch class space is just a way of rolling frequency space into circles. All of music is circular, in a strange way.
Better audio here: https://t.co/HWart22ya6
#Genuary Day 16: Circles. I revisited my piece from Day 7, using it to excite a 31TET array of harmonic oscillators, which, through the magic of ambisonics and binaural sound (use headphones), drift in circles around you like mellow ghosts. #genuary2021#binaural#ambientmusic
