Austin Chinese Church recognized Lunar New Year by blessing three neighborhood schools’ teachers and staff with red envelopes and Asian pastries. Kinda cool that some teachers knew about the red envelopes and asked if there was money inside! Nope!

Saddened to hear the many lives lost in Morocco from a powerful earthquake. Praying for those who are hurt and those who have lost loved ones. Please keep Morocco in your prayers.

More often than not, relationships strengthen through personal investments rather than programs. #organic

Showing kindness and extending forgiveness could very well be the entry point for someone to know Jesus through us. #organic

Mercy - when you bless someone who does not have your back. #organic

Often time, when we make ministry solely about metrics and measurements, we miss out on what ministry is meant to be. Ministry becomes more of the “what” than the “who.” Projects instead of people. Counting rather than cultivation. Church must not be like this. #organic

As a Chinese who lives in the United States, the term “Asian American” denotes many different cultures, ethnicities, languages, people groups. I must continually reaffirm this truth because there is beauty in all these differences. It reaffirms how beautiful God is as Creator.

I regularly ask myself this question:

If much of my time is spent on discipleship with other believers, but I never model for them how to share the gospel to those who do not know Jesus, then am I truly discipling others?

Only half of the pastor’s work is to gather the people together for worship. The other half is to send them back to their daily tasks equipped to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world. If we forget this second part, the other can be positively dangerous.

Started to put up the tree. Wondering how long it will be up. My bet is until March 2023

Heading out of town this weekend so decided not to worry about buying candy for Halloween. First trick or treaters were kids from my church. I told them I had nothing for them. One of them said I should be arrested… Sad…

Pastor’s Appreciation Month is nice. Even better when it looks like this:

So just came back from officiating my sister’s wedding in Hawaii. Trying hard to forget the island vibes, so I’m pretending the heat in TX is the same as in HI, and the oak trees around me are palm trees.

It ain’t working…

#1 evil - the Celtics
#2 evil - the Clippers
#3 evil - the Warriors

this is going to be a tough series to watch. Sigh… Go Warriors! (just swallowed back my puke)

They woke up this morning. It would have been an ordinary day just like any other Tuesday. It never crossed their minds that 5/24 would be their last day. They woke up to live. And they will continue to live in our hearts forever. #RobbElementary #Uvalde
