The families of David and Douglas Gresham, stepsons of C.S. Lewis, have released an official statement via Netflix about Greta Gerwig’s Narnia movie:
“From our ongoing conversations with Greta Gerwig, we have personally witnessed her sincere passion for the Narnia series. Her life-long love of C.S. Lewis is apparent to everyone involved with this film. We saw this enthusiasm during our visit to the set in London.
We are thrilled to be working with such a talented and accomplished director and production team, and are keen to continue working with them on future projects. Our vision is for this movie to be enormously successful and for this calibre of talent to be applied to all of the Chronicles of Narnia.”
This comes days after Movieguide founder Dr. Ted Baehr made headlines by reporting the family were “very upset” about Meryl Streep voicing Aslan.

Sam Altman says #Artificial filmed outside his house and he waved to Andrew Garfield:
"One morning I was walking down the street to get coffee, and there were all these cameras and there was a guy dressed exactly like me with my same backpack walking so much that I felt I was in some weird glitch of the simulation or something ... We waved and went on, but it was really weird. I mean, it’s like a strange thing to see someone that has nailed your kind of quirky mannerisms or whatever." https://t.co/kQJWvzrvRF
In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.
"Avengers: Doomsday" star Alan Cumming says "I don’t fully understand the plot" of the movie ("I’m here to run around") and he only acted with Florence Pugh's stunt double.
“There was a bit when we were shooting a scene, and it was one of the rare scenes when I was actually on the backlot and not in front of a blue screen. And this man came and said, ‘So right now Alan, these giant robots are blah blah,’ and started to tell me the thing, and I was like, ‘You know what, thank you so much, but just tell me where I point my, whatever I point. And I’ll do that. Really, I just know I’m here to run around'... And I saw Florence Pugh yesterday at the Emmys. And I said, ‘Gosh, it’s so funny. I’ve never met you, but you lay on top of me, or your body double did.’ And she goes, ‘Yeah I lay on top of you as well, but it was your body double.'" (via SiriusXM)

If Christian nerds are this upset abt Greta Gerwig making a dynamic artistic choice like portraying Aslan as a female divinity in THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA, they're gonna be REAL pissed when she pivots to portraying Pevensie children as Middle Eastern war refugees in the 00s.....
EXCLUSIVE 🪩
Greta Gerwig’s Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew is a rock inspired fantasy nodding to David Bowie and The Who.
“Narnia is literally a world made out of music,” she tells Empire. “Rock’n’roll to me felt like a world made out of music.”

“You just said that 10% doesn’t seem an unreasonable estimate that AI could kill all humans”
“Yes”
“Wow… oh my God.”
@vicderbyshire speaks to Nobel Prize Winner and so-called ‘Godfather of AI’ Geoffrey Hinton about predictions by an Anthropic researcher that there’s a more than 10% chance AI could kill all humans within a decade.

I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.
