@lloydevansXJW @raahford74 He obviously wants to split the bundle of printed brochures that come as perks with his pledge—some copies shipped to a different address than the others.
@pimitopomo@Larchwood20 The HTML code on https://t.co/ENvBhyz8a2 has all thumbnails via https://t.co/3AQxwEkDec. The Akamai links—which the JW-CDN URLs internally point to—return the media earlier than their JW-CDN counterparts. The Amazon Cloudfront URLs also have been replaced with JW-CDN.
@pimitopomo@Larchwood20 Yeah, that was my cue too... and no thumbnail from 40 to 45 exists yet. Sam Herd's thumbnail (39) from Update #6 can be accessed both on old style (Akamai subdomain) and new style links (their own cms-imgp[dot]jw-cdn[dot]org domain).
@pimitopomo@brain_terrible I've had two pioneer sisters knock on my door this morning during a house-to-house round. It's campaign month with the Watchtower on wars so they might do more H2H during campaigns (e.g. Memorial, conventions).
@Larchwood20 I see it as a dirty marketing strategy, just like scrapping "disfellowship". However "not saying a greeting" in the Johannine letter is to all intents and purposes the Scriptural euphemism for "shunning". The psychological impact remains regardless of the word they use.
@Larchwood20 Shunning apostates is not entirely overlooked in the updated FAQ article, it's specified in the last footnote: "In extreme cases ... we follow the Bible's command not to 'say a greeting.'" Obviously they want people to think that shunning is an extreme exception.
@Mark_J_ODonnell Oh, stay strong, Mark! So infuriating that JWs (most probably with the blessing of WHQ) go this far to protect their despicable asses! My heart goes out to you! You are hero in fighting against their heinous routine of covering up CSA! 👏
@umudesam@pimitopomo Usually magazines are printed about a month before having the PDF and JWPUB released online. It's not unusual for a congregation to receive the magazine in hard copy before being able to download it.
@Ron_POMO@KitsuneFantomu Actually it's 416 pages. 32 pages are the two magazines for the public, but there are the 12 study Watchtowers, 32 pages each.
