Incredibly sad to hear about the University of Derby’s proposed redundancies. I was sincerely hoping to return to complete an MA and a PhD but I honestly don’t think I could get into more debt than I already am to fund an institution that is letting down hundreds of staff.

Staff were left in tears and there was a "real sadness in the room" when more than 200 University of Derby workers were called to a redundancy meeting earlier this week.

@DerbyUni the decisions being made are not only affecting current students but potential future ones. Also, poor form sending email updates about "potential redundancies" Tell the truth - over 250 colleagues WILL be made redundant under the current proposals
