They’re playing Nirvana’s Nevermind in full at the coffee shop and I was like “Sick!” but then realized this is like playing a Hendrix record in the 90s fuuuuuuuuuu
@Gill_Gross Yeah this is why I kinda grimace whenever someone says that like Shelton or Fritz or whoever else could win a slam one day…they’re all simply too human to realistically defeat a Sinner or Alcaraz at this level. Maybe they eek one out at a M1000, but the slams? 😬
@Gill_Gross Was there in person. To my eyes it looked more like Botic was just playing out of his mind than Carlos being particularly out of it. The fh’s from Carlos that usually end a point were consistently being thrown back at him.
@SAMGREIS Ugh god having to listening to Patrick McEnroe…in case John McEnroe is too dynamic and successful for you, we have his somehow less insightful, watered-down younger brother!
@Gill_Gross This dynamic almost reminded me of that frustrating Isner-Kohlshreiber matchup at the US Open, where it felt like Kohl beat him in the 3rd round like 4 or 5 years in a row
@Gill_Gross I’ve yet to see hard evidence that Rune is the player all the analysts have billed him to be. There are flashes of brilliance, and it doesn’t mean he’s not going to click eventually, but I’m not on the Rune Train until he strings together some big wins.
