For nearly 30 years, I’ve watched companies run events the same way:
Big booths. Busy crowds. Constant activity.
And afterward, nobody could clearly explain what the event actually produced.
That frustration became an obsession for me.
After more than 2,300 live events across multiple industries, I finally put the entire philosophy into a book:
The Event Revenue Engine.
The book is about human behavior, emotional connection, live environments, and turning events into real revenue systems.
It’s now moving through the publishing process and will be available later this year.
The average price per ticket for a @Vol_Football game this season is $138 per game. It is $183 per game at the @UMichFootball. Fans are now paying more each year because of the NIL & it is not sustainable. Soon fans will quit paying even if they can afford it because they feel they are over paying.
Nick Saban, discussing collectives, outlines what Alabama was working with
Says he had $2.7 million in his first year of NIL, then $7 million, and then $10 million.
After he retired, he said it jumped to $17 million, then $24 million.
“Now you have schools at $40 million”
@MontyFritts4TN We have a problem with corruption at the Univ of Tennessee but when I told you & showed you stuck your nose in the corner & did nothing. As my state rep you completely failed me. You’re not going to fight anything.
I ate supper at Buddy’s Pizzeria in Detroit. Buddy’s invented the Detroit style pizza in 1946. I of course had the gluten free crust but it was really good. Neat to eat at the place that started it all for Detroit style pizza.
I’m here at the Detroit Sports Spectacular this weekend, and the energy across the floor has been incredible already.
Collectors, dealers, and vendors are nonstop throughout the room, with tables packed, conversations happening everywhere, and momentum building aisle by aisle.
One of the things that makes live onsite events so powerful is the ability to connect face-to-face in real time. Every conversation creates opportunity. Every interaction builds relationships. Every deal helps move the hobby forward.
Events like this are where momentum happens.
If you’re here this weekend, stop by and say hello. Always great connecting with people throughout the hobby and seeing the energy that live events create firsthand.
@AdamSparks You need to cover & discuss why Danny illegally broke the Lifetime Seat Option Club & Arena Club contracts that UT offered and sold & hid behind state immunity to do it & to keep from being sued.
Need to ask them why when I told them that the Univ of Tenn had illegal broken the Lifetime Seat Option Club & Arena Club contracts & hid behind state immunity to do it & keep from being sued? They did nothing. Fritts was my state rep at the time. Rose blocked me on here on X. Marsha’s team has listened but done nothing.
@Tennessean You need to cover & discuss why Danny illegally broke the Lifetime Seat Option Club & Arena Club contracts that UT offered and sold & hid behind state immunity to do it & to keep from being sued.
Why are you @bmi@ASCAP@sesac not collecting royalties for music used & played on @eBay Live broadcasts? Sellers are getting to use copyrighted music for free. Personally I am a member @bmi & have publishing companies with all three of you & I want royalties collected that I am due.
@stalegum@ThoseBackPages This is untrue. The 2022 National in Atlantic City was at a convention center with a union. Dealers and corporate vendors had to pay the union to move in and out and pay them for set up as well.
@garbmad@ValueAddedRS@Comedyorwat@ryancohen I have talked about this as well about the copyrighted music being played with no royalties being paid. How long before the performance rights groups like BMI, ASCSP & SESAC start demanding royalties to be paid by eBay?
@ValueAddedRS@gitstallone@heydomoshi@roc_coalition I agree. That is all that has been officially released about the agreement. eBay has discussed the details further in unofficial ways at events. Last year at The National they openly discussed the acquisition plan & more details around it.
@ValueAddedRS@gitstallone@heydomoshi@roc_coalition As a former COMC employee who just left COMC earlier this year I can say there is a lot more there that hasn’t been made public. The 3 year acquisition plan is set for November of this year. eBay will decide if they want complete the acquisition or not.
@ValueAddedRS@gitstallone@heydomoshi@roc_coalition eBay moved their TCG focus to TCGsByCOMC and their eBay seller page. There was supposed to be a new marketplace as well but it has never been launched.
@JohnRoseforTN Why are you ok with the University of Tennessee breaking legal contracts & hiding behind state immunity to keep from being sued? I told you what they did & you stuck your nose in the corner & cowered down to them. You’re an empty suit who doesn’t care about his own constituents.
He is so tough that when I told him how the University of Tennessee was breaking a legal contract & hiding behind state immunity to keep from being sued he blocked me on X. If a simple post caused that reaction he’s not tough at all. He’s just another spineless RINO who caters to the establishment.
I told you how the University of Tennessee had broken a legal contract that UT itself had created & sold & hid behind state immunity to keep from being sued and what did you do? You blocked me on X. You are a compromised politician. You didn’t care that the law was being broken by the state itself.
I guess I could say it took nearly 40 years but I finally have all 8 of Mark Grace’s rookie cards autographed & authenticated. The Fleer mini is Pop 1 & is the only one ever authenticated by either Beckett or PSA. I guess this is what being a super collector looks like.
Yet you are ok with the University of Tennessee breaking contracts that UT created & sold & hid behind state immunity to keep from being sued. Glad you stood up for women & girls now stand up for the UT fans that bought those contracts & now have nothing & can’t do anything about it.
