Lt Gen Devendra Sharma, PVSM, AVSM, SM, #GOCINC #ARTRAC visited #INHSAsvini, School of Medical Assistants, and Institute of Naval Medicine on 16 Jul 26. He lauded the hospital for maintaining high standard of medical care with modern medical infrastructure and excellent tertiary health care delivery to the clientele. Emphasis on cross training visits amongst three services and sharing the good practices on Combat Medical Support alongwith building mental resilience were the key takeaways. He appreciated the efforts in innovation and medical research by the hospital.

MCMM Jabalpur conducted a specialised State Police IED (SPIED) Course from 21 Jun - 15 Jul 26 for police personnel.

The intensive course equipped State Police personnel with critical skills in IED identification, detection & disposal, search techniques and disaster‑response protocols through realistic hands‑on drills. The course reinforces Military-Civil fusion, enhancing synergy between the Armed Forces and State Police for a coordinated, effective response to IED threats and emergencies.

In his valedictory address, Maj Gen Gautam Mahajan, SM, Deputy Commandant, MCTE, exhorted the graduating Non-Commissioned Officers to keep pace with the rapidly evolving technologies in the fields of communications and information technology, and to continually strive for excellence in their professional pursuits.

A five-member US Army delegation from the US Army Pacific Command visited the Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE), Mhow, from 14–16 July 2026 as a part of Subject Matter Experts Exchange on niche technologies. During the visit, the delegation held detailed discussions with the faculty at MCTE, on Electronic Warfare, Cybertronics, Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems, Cognitive Electronic Warfare and their applications in Multi-Domain Operations. The delegation visited MCTE's Niche Technology Labs and Centres of Expertise to gain insights into ongoing capability development.

The exchange focused on strengthening professional cooperation, sharing best practices, and exploring opportunities for collaboration in emerging technology domains. The engagement reaffirmed the commitment of both the countries towards enhancing interoperability and advancing joint capabilities in support of Multi-Domain Operations.

Canine Medicine & Surgery Course conducted at RVC Centre & College concluded on 15 Jul 2026.

The course included intensive practical training and hands-on exposure at Madras Veterinary College, TANUVAS, enabling officers to gain expertise in the latest advances in canine medicine, diagnostics and surgery.

Lt Gen Devendra Sharma, PVSM, AVSM, SM, GOC-in-C, ARTRAC visited the Military College of Materials Management (MCMM), Jabalpur on 15 July 26.

The Army Commander was briefed by Maj Gen Sandeep Bahl, SM, VSM, Officiating Commandant, MCMM on the progressive training methodologies in Ordnance, stores and ammunition management. The Army Commander commended MCMM's tech-driven transformation, its key role in developing future-ready logistic leaders and the initiative of the College to ensure technical certification.

During the visit, GOC-in-C Commended serving personnel for excellence in training and also felicitated one veteran for his exemplary contribution to veteran's welfare.

Lt Gen Devendra Sharma, PVSM, AVSM, SM, GOC-in-C, ARTRAC visited the prestigious NCO Academy, Dhana on 13 Jul 2026.

Army Commander was briefed by Brig Lalit Sharma, SC, SM, Commandant, NCO Academy on the Academy’s training initiatives, innovative methodologies, Vision 2030, result analysis and perception assessment.

The Army Commander commended the Academy’s technology-driven transformation and its pivotal role in developing future-ready combat leaders for all Combat and Combat Support Arms of the Indian Army. He emphasised team building, automation, adaptive leadership and futuristic training infrastructure to meet the demands of 21st century warfare.

During the visit, the GOC-in-C, ARTRAC also awarded Commendation Cards to two Instructors for their outstanding contribution to training and felicitated two veterans with the GOC-in-C ARTRAC Veteran Achievers Medal and Certificates of Appreciation for their exemplary contribution to veteran’s welfare.

Air Vice Marshal P. S. Karkare, VSM (Retired), delivered an insightful lecture on Amateur (Ham) Radio to the student officers and faculty of MCTE. The session traced the rich history of Ham Radio, highlighting its global reach, vibrant international community, and its significance in military operations and disaster management. The role of Ham Radio in establishing communication with the International Space Station and enabling long-range connectivity through Low Earth Orbit satellites was also highlighted.

The lecture further highlighted that the Indian Army's Corps of Signals was among the first organizations in India to explore Amateur (Ham) Radio in the 1920s, with the establishment of the country's first amateur radio club at Mhow.
This pioneering legacy continues to thrive, reflecting Indian Army's enduring commitment towards fostering innovation, technical excellence, and resilient communications.

The Junior Leaders Academy, Bareilly conducted *Exercise Yudh Samvad*—an All Arms Discussion for participants of the Junior Leaders & Management Course, Potential Subedar Major Course, and personnel from ITBP.

Representatives from 18 Arms and Services, including the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, Indian Navy, and ITBP, shared insights into their operational roles, the induction of cutting-edge technologies, battlefield experiences, and the significance of integrated operations. The interactive session reinforced the principles of jointmanship, interoperability, leadership, and mission-focused collaboration, preparing Junior Leaders to meet the challenges of modern multi-domain warfare.

Brig Gaurav Kapoor, Commandant, Junior Leaders Academy, interacted with all the speakers and commended them for their professionalism and depth of knowledge.

A delegation from the Nigerian Army visited the Counter Insurgency and Jungle Warfare School, Vairengte, on 09–10 July 2026. During the visit, the delegation was briefed on the School's pivotal role in preparing personnel to meet contemporary operational challenges through realistic, mission-oriented training. The discussions also focused on potential approaches and best practices that could support ongoing counter-insurgency efforts in Nigeria.

The visit further strengthened defence cooperation and reinforced the longstanding friendship between India and Nigeria.

A team from MCTE , led by Lt Col Amol Todkar, emerged as the global winner at the International Resilient AI Challenge, jointly organised by the French and Indian governments, the United Nations and the IndiaAI Mission with partnership from Google, Mistral AI and SarvamAI. The winners were declared during a ceremony at Geneva on 8th July 2026 at the "AI for Good" Global Summit, hosted by the ITU and the United Nations.

Competing in the Audio-to-Text Model Compression track, the team produced the best-performing compressed Mistral AI model, achieving the superior balance of energy efficiency and accuracy amongst participants from all over the world.
