What does a local councillor actually do?

Since being elected as your councillor for Cuxton, Halling & Riverside, this is one of the questions I’ve been asked most.

A councillor’s role isn’t to personally fix every problem. My job is to represent residents, raise concerns with the right council departments, hold the council to account and make sure issues are followed through.

As your councillor, I will:

✅ Listen to residents.
✅ Raise issues with council officers and follow them up.
✅ Hold the council to account on your behalf.
✅ Attend council meetings and make decisions affecting our communities.
✅ Work with the police, parish councils, schools and community organisations.
✅ Keep residents informed and remain visible across the ward.

Whether it’s road safety, planning, fly-tipping, anti-social behaviour, parking, potholes or street lighting, I’m here to help wherever I can.

Thank you once again for placing your trust in me. I look forward to serving every resident of Cuxton, Halling & Riverside.

They must be protected and supported on the growth path over the next few years whereby it is predicted to achieve 6 times growth, they must be treated as a national defence asset in due course
