America has 4 major sports.
The 5 best players in basketball are 4 Europeans and a Canadian.
The best player in baseball is Japanese.
The best hockey players are Canadian or Russian.
The only sport they have the best player is the one sport thats exclusive to America.
Belgium has a right to be angry.
Imagine a World Cup in Belgium and they had a star sent off for red before facing the US.
The day before the game, we find out the Belgium president talked to the FIFA president and suddenly the guy can play.
We'd be losing our minds here.
I'm an American and not unpatriotic, but I still want Belgium to wipe the floor with the US squad today because having your daddy bully the coach into letting you cheat and then getting flattened anyway is objectively a very funny outcome.
It’s great to have new fans of the sport, everyone is welcome but please have the humility to accept that you have no idea what you’re talking about and as a result, you shouldn’t have strong opinions about anything. Everyone with a functioning brain who has been watching football for more than 2 weeks understands the problem here and the reputational damage this is doing to both FIFA and US Soccer. So many people have worked so hard over the years to establish the US’s reputation in the sport and to be respected by the international football community, this does irreparable harm to that. I don’t care if you think it is a red or not, those decisions happen in football every week. Laurent Blanc missed a World Cup final due to a red card in the semi final which was clearly simulation but he had to accept it. Infantino needs to resign tonight, his consent to govern comes from all of us, he is a total liability.
This is basically all wrong. In Europe there still is respect for the rule of law. In the US the rules will be changed by the King when it suits him. And Americans now more or less accept that this is ok.
Gabriel, can we walk through the play in question so you can point out the infraction to me? Was it before or after the defender came up from behind Balogun and challenged his attempt at the ball. Let me know when you can. Thx.
Dear American friends. Yes, that's it. We're terrified because your very best player is the fourth best player on the seventh best team in the fourth best league. Has nothing to do with you thinking stepping on an opponent's leg is fine or that your president is a corrupt maniac.
The Celtics are banking on Payton Pritchard making a Jalen Brunson-type leap, per @tomhaberstroh
“The Celtics trading [Jaylen] Brown is a bet that [Payton] Pritchard is their in-house version of New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson, a diminutive player who didn’t fully show his talents until Luka Dončić was out of the picture.”

Always great when some asshole grandstands on his high horse of soccer superiority while simultaneously just being flat out wrong.
By the way, Messi did this exact same thing the other day AND with more intent…no red card.
So I’m pretty sure there’s a debate to be had.
Americans have stopped crying about “offsides” for 5 minutes.
They’re currently crying about “accidental” fouls that shouldn’t be red cards.
They’ve all just discovered this sport and are just utterly clueless 😂
That foul was a clear red card too. Not even a debate!
Genuine fucking moronic person. The Supreme Court said the executive branch can’t unilaterally subvert or change the constitution by citing historical context. Read a fucking book, man.
I genuinely want Caitlin to leave and create her own league or something so these moron women in the WNBA can go back to making $40,000 a year and taking buses cross country to games. Just absolute idiots.
I genuinely think a fair trade would be to then carve up the 2nd amendment accordingly. Surely we must apply the same logic and note that the founders could never have intended for the 2nd amendment to apply to automatic weapons that could cause mass casualty and death.
Birthright citizenship was never intended to benefit illegal immigrants.
Following today’s ruling, Congress should pass my Constitutional Citizenship Act to ensure only the children of those here lawfully are granted citizenship.
The Knicks' Jalen Brunson is joining the New York-based @justsalad as a partner and equity owner. The NBA Finals MVP has been in talks with the chain since early last year. Brunson will be "embedded in the business." Just Salad is a fast-growing, 125-unit salad brand.
Several athletes have taken stakes in growth brands as an alternative to straight marketing deals, including Shaquille O'Neal, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, etc. Potentially leads to bigger rewards down the line, but there are some definite risks.
