சுந்தரி கண்ணால் - As the 2nd interlude begins, the war theme bgm is set with powerful drums, brass, string instruments and chorus. Suddenly the music falls quite with beautiful flute and violin followed by a beautiful melodies charanam with Janaki's enchanting voice,

சோலையிலும் முட்கள் தோன்றும்
நானும் நீயும் நீங்கினால்
பாலையிலும் பூக்கள் பூக்கும்
நான் உன் மார்பில் தூங்கினால்

It feels as though a mild wind is sweeping through us following the storm.

The charanam is excessively melodious, while the war theme BGM is heavy and intense. Ilaiyaraaja may have believed that the audience would not be connected if the director were to directly show combat scenes to the heroine singing the charanam. As a result, he bridged the distance by incorporating haunting flute and violins. Mani expertly captured this music on screen, depicting the full moon passing through clouds.

Raaja sir not only composes the song but also teaches director on how to engage the audience through his music.
