@Delta today I learned how it feels to be misled, stranded, and treated like my time had no value, all after a mechanical issue. What followed showed a complete lack of empathy or passenger care. Thread 👇
10/@Delta delays happen. Mechanical issues happen.
But misleading customers, not prioritizing connections, and stranding passengers with no support?
Completely avoidable.
Travel shouldn’t punish the passenger for trusting the airline.
Do better.
9/Hotel exactly what you’d expect.
Food vouchers — but no food available.
No basic toiletries (which my original Marriott booking would’ve provided).
Spent extra on late-night delivery for toothbrush & essentials.

Hotel voucher lists random names. A 2-star Wyndham, exhausted, I take it.
Then came the shuttle nightmare:
I waited over 40 minutes at the pickup zone.
First shuttle arrives → “Wrong one, that’s North.”
Second → “You need Central.”
Zero guidance, just confusion.
6/
I sprint to Gate D25.
App still says “boarding.”
Gate is empty. Boarding closed. Nobody there.
No help.
Customer service rebooks me for next day. Only option.
5/
We land. I’m ready to run. Instead of supporting connecting passengers:
No priority deplaning
No announcement
We literally waited while front rows slowly deplane, cleaning crew boarded before we even got off
This alone could have made the difference.
Passenger empathy: 0
4/
They eventually “found a part” and fixed the aircraft.
Throughout, both the crew and online support kept telling me I’d make my connection. Even gave me terminal-to-terminal route directions. Felt relieved — until landing.
3/
“We may have to move all luggage & redo weight paperwork. No ETA.”
Connection clearly at risk.
Flight attendants repeatedly reassured us:
“They know many of you are connecting. They’ll probably hold the flight.”
That reassurance turned out to be completely false.

First flight to Detroit? Smooth, on time. ✅
Then everything changed.
Boarded the DTW → ATL flight… and sat due to a mechanical issue. Told “best-case 10 minutes.” That turned into over an hour.
1/
Last-minute work trip from Newark → San Jose. Company policy put me on a @Delta itinerary with 2 stops:
EWR → DTW → ATL → SJC.
Unideal, but I accepted it.
@AskLyft in the past, I had appreciated the company for its customer obsession. However, the company has stooped so low in standards that I have to withdraw all my previous opinion. Totally frustrating experience. #CustomerExperience
