For those concerned about multiple direct USD based AI subscriptions in Bangalore, you should try to come up with an an aggregate subscription service like airtel x stream or jio. There's already one aggregator for oreilly learning in the form of acm library. This reduces forex๐ฑ
Even though India is close to Japan culturally. When we look back, so much of our modern thoughts are deeply European.Intellectual depth, breadth of Europe is something few can match. They may not be mass producting like China or US, but modern sense of taste has its origins here
It looks like there's something seriously wrong with modern electronics and TVs. Those who want to maintain their sanity should probably try to buy old phones, TVs. Preferably before COVID or older.
i think this is an automated response that doesn't mean much. I'm being harassed by your technician to undo a repair for a documentation he missed. I think it's pretty irresponsible for a big brand to sell products with this many defects and botch the customer servc @SamsungIndia

@SamsungIndia i bought a 8k tv from you. I've got display issue two times in a flagship model?!! Th8s was all within warranty. But this is a great opportunity for seeing 3 more years of warranty. Looks like modern tv business is about making TVs work reliably to warranty expires?
@SamsungIndia Apparently Samsung wants to know the failure occurred exactly at my place so they're trying to get location information. I don't think buying this tv was with the hassle.
@SquawkCNBC@GinaRaimondo If innovation is your right brain, efficiency is your left brain. Asian efficiency allowed for a widespread tech adoption that you're now building on to automate using AI. The US can bring back manufacturing, but it won't create the same jobs. Like you said it'll look very difrnt
In India we're thinking AI and energy is still some thing that only rich people need. When we had an illiterate majority we never thought we didn't need printing press. The same is true for AI. We need to figure out class mobility while leapfrogging to AI for work.
@jeremyphoward It has been my wish to work on something that changes the research paradigm in this direction. Glad to see this idea now out in the open. I hope it gets more steam.
@jeremyphoward 's talk "growing with purpose" resonated most deeply with my thinking. He correctly calls upon the list of people like Brett Victor, Engelbert, Stallman and others who built tools of empowerment.
@steipete To much cross talk, noise, people walking by, bad indoor air quality. Working in pods can be great, but a dedicated space to work that less interruptable is something big billion dollar corporations don't seem to value
Though there is a promise of abundance, people need acceptable proof that becomes culturally accepted. That takes time. But time create abundant opportunities for sabotage. This is the constraint loop. Ideally you'd take time to address all three.
Water usage is overblown as a concern. The most visceral objection to AI progress is the whole organisation of society is at stake. There was a clear plan and class aspirations for people to feel comfortable about power differential between upwardly mobile and this left behind.
