Why Smart Home Design in India Can’t Just Be Imported Thinking

When we started building smart home products, we quickly realized — what works globally doesn’t always work in India.

Most global smart home products are designed for:
• High-speed Wi-Fi homes
• Predictable power conditions
• Standard electrical fittings

But India is a whole different game. Here’s what we see on the ground:

✅ A large % of our customers still don’t have stable internet – they ask, “Will it work on Bluetooth only?”
✅ Many homes face frequent power cuts – so we design with power restore memory
✅ Retrofit matters – our products must fit into existing switchboards without chiseling or rewiring
✅ And the biggest one? Everyone — builder, electrician, homeowner — wants it simple
