Both the CBI and ED are being pressured by the regime to raid close associates of the two Election Commissioners. Both of them are resisting pressure to hold a joint press conference with Gyanesh Kumar and unequivocally refute and trash the Indian Express report.

The same had happened to Ashok Lavasa. His family members were sent IT notices before he was pressured to resign.

This is completely unacceptable. The government has totally forgotten that this is post-Jantar Mantar India and the public cannot be fooled through such illegal and fraudulent tactics.

#BREAKING Carnatic Musician TM Krishna moves #SupremeCourt challenging the Centre's circular mandating the singing of six stanzas of Vande Mataram and the recent amendment giving Vande Mataram the same status as the National Anthem.

Krishna states that four stanzas of Vande Mataram expressly invoke devotion to Hindu deities, and mandating the singing of those portions violates the secular character of the nation.

The amendment to cover Vande Mataram under the Prevention of Insults to the National Honour Act is arbitrary and violates personal liberty, and furthers a "majoritarian religious message", @tmkrishna contends.

In response to a question on the expansion of Coimbatore airport, I noted that our state would only lease the needed land to the AAI/Union Govt, and not transfer ownership to them, as before. The lease would include a clause that the lease amount would be kept at a minimum token value as long as the airport was operated by AAI itself. If the Union Govt decides to hand over the airport to private players, the lease payments to Tamil Nadu would go up to reflect the then-prevailing market value of the land, or we should get an equity stake in the airport equivalent to the then-prevailing value of the land. And that TN has declined AAI’s suggestion that they should have the right to sub-lease the land to a private operator (at the concessional lease rent) without our consent (and at the token value lease payment).

Experienced the anti-Kannada entitlement firsthand today, and frankly, I’m still furious.
A Hindi-speaking couple hit our car at Orion Mall,Bengaluru.
When my driver confronted them about the damage, the woman eventually started screaming at him to “speak in English or Hindi” because she didn’t understand Kannada.
That’s when I intervened - No. He will speak Kannada. We are in Karnataka.
And she LOST it.
“You Kannadigas hate North Indians.” “Why should I learn Kannada?” “You should know Hindi.” And then outright contempt for Kannada itself.
Sorry, WHAT?
You move to Karnataka, don’t learn Kannada - absolutely your choice. Nobody needs to force you. But then demanding that Kannadigas know your language, in their own state, and getting offended because someone speaks Kannada to you?
That is not discrimination against North Indians. That is entitlement.
I speak Hindi. I have never had an issue speaking it. I’ve always thought this entire language war was pointless.
But today? I finally understood where some of this anger comes from.
You don’t have to know Kannada. But you damn well don’t get to disrespect it in Karnataka and then play victim because Kannadigas won’t switch to Hindi for you.
