Analyzing the ownership of corporate landlords is one way of examining the dynamics of these actors. My forthcoming research looks at the impacts of the arrival of corporate landlords on tenants. Further research into those effects can be key to giving housing policy responses.

The paper argues that corporate landlords are changing real estate dynamics, by expanding new ownership strategies. After a first rental financialization process through affluent individuals, a second wave is occurring: a real estate market focused on institutionalized landlords.

The term ‘gray housing status’ pertains to the position of migrants, where they lack the opportunity to participate in the formal housing market while also facing the prerequisites and demands of legal and financial aspects within the ‘informal market’.
