Here’s the traditional method of making kukum. The primary ingredient is turmeric, along with vengaram, kasi katti, spatigam, and lemon juice. It is prepared in either an earthen plate or a copper plate and then sun-dried for 3–4 days.

Ancient Hindu-Jain idols have been unearthed from the sealed basement of Bharuch's historic Jama Masjid in Gujarat.

Several sculptures, including an idol of the 19th Jain Tirthankara Mallinath, along with an inscription dated Vikram Samvat 1213, were discovered inside a vault that had reportedly remained sealed for nearly 700 years.

The cut-money scam in West Bengal is now producing scenes straight out of a political farce.

In Mathabhanga, Cooch Behar, local residents surrounded the residence of TMC leader Shahidul Miya, accusing him of extorting between ₹5,000 and ₹20,000 from beneficiaries of government housing schemes.

As public anger erupted, the TMC leader hid under his bed to escape the furious crowd. Eventually, the police had to rescue him from his hiding place.

From Kakdwip to Namkhana and now Mathabhanga, the story remains the same: cut-money, corruption, and panic. As investigations tighten and arrests mount, those who once exploited the poor are finding it increasingly difficult to hide, even under a bed.
