As part of Swachhta Pakhwada 2026, BPCL Mumbai Refinery had the honour of hosting Hon'ble Minister of State for Petroleum & Natural Gas and Tourism, Shri Suresh Gopi.

The programme was led by Shri Sanjay Khanna, Chairman & Managing Director, BPCL, Shri M. Sankar, Executive Director, Mumbai Refinery, Shri L. Ravi, Chief Procurement Officer (Refineries) and other senior officials.

The event began with the Swachhta Pledge, followed by the distribution of saplings and hygiene kits, felicitation of student competition winners, and a tree plantation drive, reaffirming BPCL's commitment to cleanliness, environmental sustainability and community engagement.

The visit reinforced BPCL's continued commitment to the Government of India's Swachh Bharat vision and to building a cleaner, greener and more sustainable future.

BPCL has entered into a strategic partnership with Shell Gas B.V. and Tiki Tar Industries (Baroda) Limited through a joint venture to strengthen its value-added bitumen portfolio and support India's growing infrastructure sector.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Shri Sanjay Khanna, Chairman & Managing Director, BPCL; Shri Subhankar Sen, Director (Marketing), BPCL; Shri Raman Ojha, Chairman, TTSIPL & President, Shell Aviation; and Shri Rajendra Shah, Tiki Tar Industries Limited.

The Joint Venture Agreement was signed on behalf of BPCL by Shri Debashis Naik, Executive Director (Corporate Affairs) and Shri Manoj Menon, Business Head (I&C). The joint venture combines BPCL's market reach, Shell's global technology expertise and Tiki Tar's manufacturing capabilities to deliver advanced value-added bitumen solutions for highways, airports and other key infrastructure projects.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Sanjay Khanna highlighted the joint venture's role in advancing next-generation road construction technologies, while Shri Subhankar Sen emphasised its contribution to strengthening BPCL's product portfolio and supporting India's infrastructure growth. Shri Raman Ojha from Shell Gas B.V. spoke on how the partnership will help unlock future-ready bitumen solutions that go beyond enhanced road performance, paving the way for more sustainable and innovative infrastructure applications.

MAK Manthan, a flagship engagement initiative of Lubricants Headquarters since 2015, continues to strengthen BPCL's connect with mechanics, one of the most influential stakeholders in the lubricant business.

As part of the programme, around 300 mechanics from across India visited BPCL's Mumbai Refinery and Wadilube Plant, gaining first-hand exposure to world-class manufacturing facilities, stringent quality standards, and the lubricant manufacturing process. The visit also featured interactive sessions on refinery operations and safety practices, providing participants with valuable insights into the MAK brand and Bharat Petroleum's commitment to excellence.
