personally, enemies to lovers only works when both characters have genuine moral complexity and that needs a strong plotline. it's probably the hardest trope to write about and not all authors can pull it off well
"I hope your favorite character dies" is boring. it's basic. "I hope your favorite character has good potential but gets dogshit writting" is smart. it's possible. it's terrifying.

Is it the writer's responsibility to simplify his thoughts to meet the intellectual level of his audience, or should he write at the full depth of his thinking and compel his readers to elevate themselves to meet it?
