@ObviousRises Philosophy professors tell you that you're learning a very elite ability to break down people's arguments into their original components to gain deep understanding into human thought. Of course, this takes decades of work to be at all true, but the students don't know that.

A trick I learned in designing and writing characters is to make them hateable in some aspect. If you can accept most of their flaws , that means you like them as a 'person' to some degree, it humanizes them

Dune is an extremely old interest for me and it is the inspiration for the feudal-politics high fantasy, which appears at first look to be sci-fi, in City of No End.
