➤ Does FCRA prohibit NGOs and civil society organisations from receiving foreign donations❓

✅No. FCRA does not impose a general prohibition on foreign donations. It permits eligible associations to receive foreign contribution after obtaining registration or prior permission and requires such contribution to be received, utilised and reported in the prescribed manner.

➤ What are the financial discipline requirements for FCRA registered organisations❓

✅Organisations must declare the purposes for which they are receiving foreign contributions and spend the money on those declared purposes.

No more than 20% of the annual foreign contribution may be used for administrative expenses, the remaining 80% must go to the activities for which the funding was received.

➤ Under the proposed Bill, what happens to an organisation's assets if its FCRA registration is cancelled?

✅The cancellation of FCRA registration does not mean an organisation's entire assets are seized by the government. The Designated Authority (under the proposed 2026 Amendment) manages only assets created from foreign contributions, and only once an organisation's registration has lawfully ceased.

There are frequent debates in India about what exactly forced the British to grant us Independence in 1947. It was a combination of factors that included a war-weary Britain, and the long-running political mobilisation in India. However, the fear of guerrilla warfare by the revolutionaries, and the possibility of a revolt in the Indian armed forces (esp after INA & Naval revolt) played a major role. We do not need to debate this because Prime Minister Attlee has explicitly noted this in the Transfer of Power papers (Nov 1946). Just look up Vol 9, doc 35, page 68 (199 in the pdf):

US B-2 bombs Three Nuclear Sites in Iran: From Deterrence to Destruction

Against the backdrop of rising Iran-Israel tensions, in the early morning of June 22, the United States entered the conflict by deploying a fleet of B-2 Spirit stealth bombers to strike three Iranian nuclear facilities.

A total of 6 to 12 GBU-57A/B MOP (Massive Ordnance Penetrator) 30,000lb “Bunker Buster” Bombs were dropped by U.S. Air Force B-2A “Spirit” Long-Range Stealth Bombers on the Fordow Nuclear Facility. At the same time, 30 BGM-109 “Tomahawk” Land-Attack Cruise Missiles (TLAMs) were launched from submarines with the U.S. Navy at the Natanz and Isfahan Nuclear Facilities.

The three targeted sites—Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz—are considered the crown jewels of Iran’s nuclear program, with Fordow serving as a key uranium enrichment plant. Located at a point deeper than the English Channel, Fordow was targeted with the GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP), also known as the "Bunker Buster”.
