Official Twitter for the Algonquin Nation who are seeking to be equals in all aspects of the Indigenous Peoples' Space on their territory at 100 Wellington St.
The Algonquin Nation sincerely thanks everyone who supported us We greatly appreciate everyone who took the time to stop by, remain on the site with us, dropped off food and medicine and who spoke out, verbally or in writing in support of us. Kichi Migwech
The Algonquin Nation and the Government of Canada will begin a bilateral process to develop this space, and the Government is prepared to have a building constructed should this be part of the request put forward by the Algonquin.

The two parties agreed that 100 Wellington would not open without a resolution that successfully addresses the interests of the Algonquin People. Furthermore the “”infill” section within the Indigenous Peoples Space will be a dedicated space for the Algonquin.
Kichi Migwetch.
We have reached an agreement with the government. We will be making a public statement as soon as the Grand Chief is available. She is receiving the medical treatment she needs at this time. A big thank you to everyone for your support. Kichi Migwetch.
@perrybellegarde@perrybellegarde National Chief, respectfully, you were on the wrong side of Wellington Street. You were celebrating with the colonizer and not supporting the Algonquin Nation and our fight for equality mere meters across the street.
You didn’t even have the decency to stop by.
Please support Chief Verna Polson. To learn more about this, visit @as_equals. She is on a hunger strike atm for the rights of her people. If you live on Algonquin territory, please do your part to support and share this story with your networks. #algonquinterritory#equals
