@OpenreachHelp Hi Dan, I originally selected three appointment times that I could make through my service provider, before receiving texts on their behalf from Openreach offering me a series of different times

Really is astonishing how @OpenreachHelp can deliver such poor customer service. Asked for an appointment on the afternoon of the 10th or any time on the 11th. They offered me the morning of the 10th - which I can’t do because I don’t have access to the property until afternoon

Today they tried to confirm the first AM appointment for the 10th, and when I said I couldn’t do that time, they offered me the following Tuesday - five full days after the appointment I originally accepted.

3. Returning to this thread after a while, but this was a bit of a project! Finally finished Charles Moore’s biography of Margaret Thatcher, which is a wonderfully detailed (albeit rose-tinted) 2701-page set of tomes!

Because my birthday and the New Year are so close, I tend to combine my resolutions and fit them up neatly with my age.

One of those resolutions was to read more books. What will follow is a thread of the books I will have read in my 24th year on this planet.

2. Ben Macintyre (2018) The Spy and the Traitor

Unbelievably good. Founded in historical fact and interviews but reads like a thriller. The first book I’ve read since Nineteen Eighty-Four that’s set my heart racing at its climax. Thoroughly recommended.
