1. This is the front page of the Daily Graphic. A govt- sponsored newspaper that has for some strange reasons decided to gloss over major positive govt activities but instead focus on negative happenings.
2. As we speak, the Prez is in Europe seeking investments from the British and Belarusians for the Nation. A major news item
3. As we speak, the Vice Prez has toured some flood prone areas in Accra and visited Alajo in the company of the Interior Minister, GAR Minister, Accra Mayor etc. A major news item
4. As we speak, Govt has successfully evacuated nearly 1000 Ghanaians stranded in South Africa due to xenophobic attacks. A major news item
5. Yet, the Editor of the Daily Graphic has once again, deliberately decided to highlight on its front page, a strike action by KATH doctors because the CEO has been suspended by the KATH Board for some alleged admin misjudgments pending investigations. Nobody is above the law. We are all subject to discipline of the law.
6. So for Daily Graphic to highlight what’s really a disciplinary issue render major govt policy moves as footnotes on its front page is journalistically most undesirable.
I leave it here…….
What is Africa waiting for? On 21 July 2024, in line with the AfCFTA Digital Trade Protocol adopted February 2024, Ghana submitted a report at the 6th AU Mid-Year Coordination Meeting (with all the RECs), which was unanimously endorsed, calling for both PAPSS and the broader continent-wide mobile money interoperability to be implemented by all member states by 2027. This would allow Africans to buy and sell across borders, using their mobile money wallet. If we don’t make demands it may so easily become yet another AU promise unfulfilled. This is a very simple matter. I am reminding the non-partisan majority in Ghana that government spokespersons have a massive partisan base to amplify their message.
The fact that dozens of people will mass up at a TV station to show support should tell you that many tens of thousands will take to social media to show support. They don't even have to bother to understand the issues.
What that means is that the government's position on an issue would always dominate the airwaves and social media. Their VIEWPOINT will saturate the public consciousness.
Hence, anyone truly interested in public matters must make an extra effort to READ UP and INQUIRE on their own about what is really happening in the country lest we sleepwalk into the abyss.
On this GoldBod issue, for instance, anyone who bothers to read would learn that all the issues in the controversy have been resolved carefully by CSO activists:
1. Yes, there were TRADING losses. The government gets less dollars than they should get given the Cedis they take to buy gold. That is the cost side of the ledger.
2. No, the benefit side of the ledger does NOT attribute the majority of the positive outcomes (exchange rate stability, inflation drop, low debt servicing) etc. to the GoldBod since other factors like high gold prices (which also impacts the volume produced) and the fiscal consolidation program have been more impactful.
3. The GoldBod cannot alone take credit for reduced smuggling as that is a function of general law enforcement. There is nothing within the actual structure of the GoldBod that by itself reduces smuggling.
Yet, if you simply scan social media or read mainstream media headlines, that is not the impression you will get because you would be swamped with partisan praise-singing containing zero policy content.
That is the point I am making. Next, I will publish the infographic I displayed on GoldBod and when we have time develop a model so that everyone can appreciate how the losses in the GoldBod program build up and why they are REAL LOSSES.
That is the most activists like me can do. The rest is up to the citizens. Namaste.

Thailand's pineapple industry has faced challenges due to the El Nino effect and excessive fertilizer use, leading to reduced yields and quality. However, recent rainfall brings hope for recovery, despite delays.
@etsedafeamekpor@Gen_Buhari_ I personally petition @GhPoliceService that very day to go and arrest them and gave them the needed information here that they were lodging at Movenpick Hotel but nobody took it serious

Hon. Dafeamakpor has accepted he was wrong for saying the pictures were AI generated and has apologized.
So those of you NDC folks who insulted me, how do you feel now??
Buhari, let me admit that upon watching this video you have supplied, I am convinced that the earlier information I received about this foto being AI-generated is inaccurate.
It means this truly happened in Ghana so I will join the call for this to be condemned in no uncertain terms.
Remember, I was & remain part of the strongest voices against this lgbtq+ activities in our country. The initial advise I got on the fotos, was wrong.
Apologies
Instead of a trip to D.C., Ghana’s foreign minister should focus on honoring his government’s commitments to repay U.S. companies and the American taxpayers. We cannot keep subsidizing Ghana while it continues paying far larger debts to China.
