This cemetery is the resting place of several of the Prophet #Muhammad`s (PBUH) relatives and companions, it is the holiest cemetery in the Islamic tradition.

It is also believed that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to pray here whenever he was passing through.

As a social justice activist, #SheikhNimr was at the forefront of campaign to rebuildalBaqi.
He also ran several annual exhibitions onBaqi which were cancelled bySaudigovt.
