#Statement | The Foreign Ministry affirms the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s full support for the sovereignty of the brotherly Federal Republic of Somalia, and for its unity and territorial integrity. The Kingdom expresses its rejection of the announcement of mutual recognition between the Israeli occupation authorities and the Somaliland region, considering it an action that entrenches unilateral secessionist measures that violate the international law.
H.E. @AmbWangYu had an urgent phone call with H.E. FM @AbdisalamDhaay, reaffirmed China’s firm support to Somalia’s sovereignty, national unity & territorial integrity. Both expressed strong joint opposition to secessionism undermining the core interests of the two countries.
The Chairperson of the African Union Commission rejects any recognition of Somaliland and reaffirms the African Union’s unwavering commitment to the unity and sovereignty of #Somalia.
The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, has taken note, with deep concern, of recent developments relating to Somaliland.
In this regard, the Chairperson of the Commission unequivocally reaffirms the longstanding and consistent position of the African Union, grounded in the principles enshrined in the Constitutive Act of the African Union, in particular the respect for the intangibility of borders inherited at independence, as affirmed by the 1964 decision of the Organization of African Unity.
The Chairperson of the Commission @ymahmoudali firmly rejects any initiative or action aimed at recognizing Somaliland as an independent entity, recalling that Somaliland remains an integral part of the Federal Republic of Somalia. Any attempt to undermine the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Somalia runs counter to the fundamental principles of the African Union and risks setting a dangerous precedent with far-reaching implications for peace and stability across the continent.
The Chairperson of the Commission reiterates the African Union’s unwavering commitment to the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Somalia, as well as its full support for the efforts of the Somali authorities to consolidate peace, strengthen State institutions, and advance inclusive governance.

“FIRST THEY CAME” poem by Martin Niemöller is a powerful reflection on the consequences of indifference to injustice.
First Palestinians, then Iranians, Syrians now Somalia. Who is next?
All politics must be set aside and focus MUST be on unity. 🇸🇴 is 1 indivisible country.
This policy should be held against the light of day, would love to see the (opportunity) cost-benefit analysis both in the short-term as well as medium term for starters.
Excellency, any policy that does not promote tourism or facilitate movement is a misstep. What are the underlying reasons? Why are we making it more difficult for members of the diaspora to visit? How is this beneficial? Would such measures encourage greater economic development and investment?
*except Libya and Somalia.
Whatever happened to our shared values: trade (unsurprisingly one sided beneficiary) EAC and IGAD membership and off course JL state, etc. I am sure this is just business, nothing personal! On both sides :-)
🎥-🔴 Gary Neville asked Sir Jim Ratcliffe about cutting money from former players
Gary 🗣️ “Why don’t look at that £40,000 & out Harry & Bruno in dinner [to raise money?] ”
Jim 🗣️ “ Nobody suggested that… I would’ve supported that”

This classic non-apology apology is not satisfactory to the people & gov’t of 🇸🇴.
We’re not concerned with your intentions but rather language you used, which is unbecoming of a diplomat of your stature representing the people of 🇬🇧.
Rescind the post & apologize sincerely!
The fragmentation of a unified entity and its reclassification under two distinct names is utterly unacceptable and constitutes a blatant attack on the sovereignty and unity of Somalia.
“Somalia and Somaliland”
In the middle of the MoU fiasco?
This tweet is not really reaffirming support for sovereignty and territorial integrity of Somalia, is it!
@TheVillaSomalia@MoPIED_Somalia@MOFASomalia
The UK is proud to support the fantastic work of @TheHALOTrust in Somalia and Somaliland (and elsewhere around the world).
It was a pleasure meeting HALO’s Regional Director and new Country Director this week to build on the very successful work they are doing. @UKinSomalia
Happy 60th Independence Day to my Fellow Somalis across the globe. Some sobering facts: 60 years of independence, more than 60% live in poverty, life expectancy well below 60 years, GDP/capita below 600 USD, 6 presidents (excl SL), Unemployment > 60% etc we need to do much better
@JustAwHirsi Excellent point.
It takes two to tango, otherwise it’s just plain old harassment/inappropriate behaviour at best and ostensibly a power grab at worst!
This is incredible, but sadly unsurprising.
When he received threats not to go after Israel, @KarimKhanQC reveals "a senior leader" told him the ICC "is built for Africa and for thugs like Putin", and not for the West and its allies.
The N-th domino to fall. More domino pieces to follow as reality sets in. 🇸🇴 should redouble efforts and keep the momentum going. In other news: 🇫🇷 UNSC presidency matures soon. 🇬🇾 which is a member of commonwealth. Then Japan.
